Much like alot of testimonies that I got from my cop job, you didn't tell us that about him. Obviously, your ex chose to live that kind of life and NO ONE can save him from it but himself. Those guys came there to attack him because he probably owes someone. If the cops find or found drugs in the house at the time of the investigation, BELIEVE ME, he'll be in a 10x10 cell with "Bubba". And he'll be "Bubba's" current instead of just your ex.

Short and sweet, if you want to have a life or even more importantly if you want your child to have a life..... give your head a shake and realize that you need to get your self as far away from the lowlife scum that you are involved with, to whatever degree.

The further and the faster you can expedite the social, psychological and physical move away from this trash the better, for you and more importantly your daughter.

With all due respect if you can't see this the only sympathy I have, is for the little girl.
