i want to use them but need to know more about them first. if they can cause damage etc. please help me. i want good stories and horror stories.

i dont know much about em.

I think they are used for dudes who have problems keeping their erection. So once you get hard. you put on the ring at the base of your dick, and it prevents blood from leaving the penis.

There's lots of different kinds but they all pretty much operate from the same premise. They're designed to placed at the base of the cock to retain blood in the erection. Same basic idea as a nurse banding your upper arm before taking blood.

They can also cause some "heightening" in ejaculation due to everything being cinched down. Although I think ball rings do more in that area.

There is a claim that they can increase staying power but I personally don't really buy into that.

They can cause damage if you over-tighten them or wear them for too long. You are restricting blood flow here. Body parts aren't big fans of being starved of blood and oxygen so you have to smart about it.

Of course then there are the CBT styles and that's a whole 'nuther level...lol.

Cock rings work because of the anatomy of the penis. The arteries, which carry blood FROM the heart and into the penis, are situated near the core of the penis. Veins, which carry blood TOWARDS the heart and out of the penis, are situated near the surface of the penis. So, a cock ring is placed at the base of the penis, generally behind the testicles, and constricts the outward flow of blood. Consequently, the penis remains erect and rigid much longer than normal.

The potential problem is that if the cock ring stays on too long, oxygen deprivation in the penis can cause serious damage and may lead to long-term erectile dysfunction. And if you use a solid metal or hard plastic cock ring, you may not be able to remove it. Many men have put on a solid cock ring, become erect, and then been unable to remove the cock ring because their erection will not subside. A trip to the emergency room to have it removed is a common result. Therefore, I strongly recommend using a velcro or snap cock ring that can be easily removed.

I've noticed a very disturbing trend of late on here and other boards, and that's that alot, and I mean ALOT of young (probably perfectly viral)18-25yr old men are using these cock ring/straps all the time and it's simply cause they want to appear larger and "stronger" to all that view them here.
I'm no doctor, but if they are already relying on aides now to sustain things, what's gonna happen when they get older? I gotta believe that once you become dependant on them, you're are locked into it for life

So the question I have is this: Do you place the cock ring around just the shaft or around the shaft and the testicles? I've seen some cock rings that wouldn't have a chance of fitting around both even when soft.

We have two kicking around in our bedroom: one is a simple leather thong into which a slipknot has been tied, and the other is a semifancy one that I bought at the local sex shop (the cats got to it and removed one of the aglets). My husband prefers the former over the latter every time. As soon as it has performed its office he removes it.

There are also jelly rubber and softskin rings. (Softskin is way more trouble than it is worth, IMHO.) The holes are tiny, but they are amazingly stretchy. They can be used below the balls or above. Below is more effective at maintaining erections.

Some also have a place to put a small vibe for her enjoyment. Sadly, it's not very effective since you have to be buried all the way before it makes contact with her clit and the rubber really doesn't transmit vibrations to your shaft.

Oh, and don't bother with those Erexcel ones from Dr. Leonard. They're flimsy and don't snap together securely.

Cock rings kick ass. Just a few tips:

1. Start with the super stretchy silicone types.
2. Shave your pubic area thoroughly, especially the area around your testicles.
3. The cock ring goes over the shaft and BEHIND the balls.
4. Put it on when you're SOFT, then get hard.
5. Don't keep it on more than 20 or 30 minutes.
6. Keep plenty of lube on hand and use it. It'll help you get the thing off afterward as well.

Enjoy!
