somebody explain to me how these phone-sex lines work when you are trying to make a real-life hook up..do you join and leave a phone email? i think some one placed an add with my phone number either by mistake or as a joke...all these anonymous men keep calling me looking for a gay hook up. Since i am a female this is getting to be a drag

Are you talking about the "date lines" they advertise? I'm not exactly sure, but I think you place an ad/message, and people respond with messages of their own. It should be anonymous, but someone may have put your phone number in the ad. If you know the name of the company, you can contact and ask them to search through the ads and have the one containing your number removed.

Why do you think this is a phone service and not another type of ad somewhere (internet, newspaper, magazine, written on a bathroom wall, etc.)? You're probably going to have to do some detective work for it to stop. You may have luck contacting your phone company and asking for their advice on what to do. Another idea might be to call a couple of these guys back, explain the situation, and ask how they got your number.

And let that be a lesson to you reddcutie! ;)

I would just ask the next one that phones where they saw your number and details, then contact that place and ask them to remove your info.
