It was with some relief that I saw and felt Ethan's body relax. It was really remarkable, but if anything, it made her look even sexier. Ever since she'd started developing boobs, there'd been a tension about her, as if she was just waiting for the world to attack her, and that she was determined to be ready to react.
I had no doubt that the tension would return, but for the moment, I had a sister again, not the alien thing she'd made herself into. I was glad I'd managed to penetrate the steel-hard barrier she'd thrown up around herself for so long.
"I... I hate it when you make sense," she said, in a voice much lighter than the defensive, brittle tone she'd taken up for several years. I almost heard a slight chuckle to her voice when she continued, "Why can't you be one of those stupid older brothers? It'd be so much easier for me."
When she started to sit up, I expected her to bolt, but was shocked and relieved when she threw her arms around me and squeezed me. I couldn't remember the last time I'd been touched by this sister, much less hugged. Sarah was the touchy-feely girl. Ethan was the "stay the hell away from me" type. That she'd had a boyfriend of any kind was something of a surprise to me. Still, I knew that there was a real girl behind that hard-as-stone exterior she put up. There were things that pointed out to me that she wasn't nearly as tough as she wanted the world to think.
When E told Sarah that she'd always stopped with her schemes when Sarah told her to stop, I bit my tongue when I thought, 'Yes, but you just moved on to the next diabolical plot.' It was the most civilly I'd heard Ethan speak to Sarah in a long time, so I certainly wasn't going to stoke the fires once more, now that a temporary truce was finally struck.
Ethan seemed unwilling to let me go, so I just wrapped my arms around her and felt the warmth of her body against me. Her full breasts pressed against my chest, and I once more felt myself respond. That this was my sister was wrong, but hell, I'd seen and even done a few things I probably shouldn't have in the past, so what was one more?
I slid my hand up Ethan's back, letting my hand tangle into her hair. From this close a vantage, I could see the start of the blond roots peeking out from the jet black, which brought a smile to my face. I wondered just how many times over the years E had dyed her hair, just to define herself away from being twin to Sarah?
"Welcome home, E," I whispered into the top of her head as I leaned in to kiss her hair.
At this simple, yet intimate gesture, Ethan raised her head off my shoulder and the look on her face was no longer angry and enigmatic. It was a question, a question that she wanted to ask, but apparently didn't have the words to put it together with.
I forgot that this was my sister and let my lips approach hers...
