If Literotica Closed

Porn, like arms and drugs would go underground, it would not go away."

I would like to think that a site like Literotica would have a chance to defend itself because of the literary content (both porn and non-porn).

Some of the girl meets dog sites might have a tough case proving freedom of speech/expression, but Literotica would have a MUCH stonger case.

JMHO.

A little thing like the Constitution wouldn't mean anything to somebody like Ashcroft. It didn't mean anything to Meese, even though he was generally thwarted.

I have a terrible thought. I understand that Ashcroft will be leaving as AG. There is also probably soon going to be an opening in the Supeme Court. It would be horrible if Asscroft were to be nominated and chosen.

If one was to move the server, move it to a country that has the infrastructure. I do believe Canada and Sweden have more internet connections and stuff than the UK or Australia.

It could happen very easily...

It's not that Lit would be in danger of being prosecuted themselves... it would be that all Lit's revenue generating sources would be gone... the paysites... the banners on Lit that actually generate money when people click on them and sign up for the sites.

With new proposed rules for record keeping requirements of porn producers already on the table in the US (18 U.S.C. Section 2257 Compliance), this is all actually much more real and immediate than most of you think...

It's not too early to begin a letter-writing campaign urging America's largest advertisers to support Literotica. McDonalds might balk...

Gatorade's ad campaign would be a nice fit: "Is it in you?" It's all about body fluids lost during strenuous activities.

And there's a soft drink called Squirt. Nike (Just Do It!). Condom makers. Lube manufacturers. Toy makers (if they were still in business). PreparationH? Motrin?

Sweden has a really weird and outdated BBS law saying that the owner of the server is basically responsible for all posts published on it. There are loopholes to get around it, but it's tricky. So...go Canada!

I'd hate to lose this site.

As for addresses, I have a few.
But that's no guarantee.

I lost contact with people before, as you do not always know what happens to them in real life.

I think the Netherlands have something similar to Sweden about the host being responsible for the content. But I think the content is fairly unlimited.

That is about to change though. After the jihad killing this week (the first in our country) of rather outspoken filmmaker Theo van Gogh politicians are screaming about the zillion websites preaching murder (of Dutch politicians) in the name of Allah.
We're flooded with arrests of alleged terrorists.

It seems we have a code orange since July.
Nobody here knows what code orange means.
They forgot to inform the public about that.

Oh, dear lord. I'll have nightmares for weeks now.

damn, mabeuse you are psychic (about the board going down).

maybe the best contingency plan would be to 'meet' at a predesignated forum or bulletin board-- perhaps a general 'non sexual one'.

still, it's hard to see the Republican boys losing their taste for porn, and the nabobs, for hookers and mistresses.

Can you imagine what the reaction would be when the whole AH menagerie showed up and started their usual mix of thread topics on the Myrtle Beach Golf Course's Bulletin Board   :D

I believe I would just hate it if Lit. closed...
I have come so close to so many here on the boards,
and in chat..
It is my home away from home..
I express everything here.
Thinkin if it did happen...
I am with the rest of you guys..~~*Go Canada*
