If you are having a lengthy delay in publishing, please add the name of your story and when submitted here.

I’ve had a story pending since 8th December and was just about to delete and repost it, when I noticed—only just now—that it’s actually scheduled to publish tomorrow! I’d even started reworking it, just in case a keyword had tipped it over. Thank God I didn’t spot any major issues in the end.

It’s my first story in the taboo category, so that might explain why it took a little longer to review, or just people enjoying the holidays and taking a break from smut checking.

I’ve been pretty patient with it, but I’ve also got another story pending from 23rd December, which will be part one of three, and I’m already about two-thirds of the way through yet another story. So my catalogue was starting to back up...

Perhaps its been Literotica's attempt to make me socialise with family and friends instead of squirrelling myself away and writing filth dammit!
Glad you are out of purgatory 😊

Day 15 of my second chapter sitting in pending.
I’m thinking of messaging Laurel in the next few days to see if there’s any movement. If not, I’ll likely pull the submission and resubmit it at the one-month mark from the original submission (22nd December), or hold off until the end of the month.

I'm aware that people have been in the queue longer than I have, but I have this paranoid feeling that I'm letting down those who are patiently waiting for the continuations of the stories I have planned >.<

All I can say is "Keep the Faith". If your submission hasn't been kicked back, for whatever reason, resubmitting it just puts you at the end of the queue.

I think it's the total lack of communication from those in charge that is the most frustrating. If Laurel (or Manu) had come back and said, "Hey, we're drinking from the firehose" or something to that effect, I would have understood and let things pass in their own time. The days of a submission posting in 3-4 days are long gone.

I'd second that. I was a just about to delete and re-upload, then noticed the 'published' on my longest pending story. Your readers will still be there (but I understand the frustration)

Something interesting seems to be happening on Literotica’s side.

Since early October, a noticeable number of German language submissions were not making it through moderation at all. In my own case, and based on reports from other German authors, approval rates dropped sharply, even for content that would previously have passed without issues. This lasted consistently up until last week.

Now, starting this week, several authors are reporting that their stories, which had been rejected earlier, are suddenly going through again, without issues and with shorter approval times.

Now, starting this week, several authors are reporting that stories which had been rejected earlier are suddenly going through again, unchanged, and with normal approval times. At least for german authors. Moderation behavior looks much closer to what it was before October.

I'm curoius whether other authors are seeing similiar patterns right now.

there seems to be something “happening” so to speak as my activity suddenly has nearly hit max (all, works, authors, comments) that’s all I can see that’s different at the moment :)

After 2 months, my re-edited chapters were sent back for AI. What's funny is that one of them was merely a different length than the original one posted. I had to adjust the length due to the added text in one of the chapters.

Mind you, this is a story that was already posted on Literotica as one large story. The rejections have only happened once I broke it up into multiple chapters.
Most AI detectors report a percentage of the work reviewed that is suspected of being AI generated.

50% suspected AI in a story of 10K words is the same as 10% suspected AI in a story of 50K words.

By breaking your story up, you may have thrown each part over whatever threshold Lit's detection process views as acceptable.

I had a new one with my story that was originally submitted in September. The last time I tried submitting an edited version was 12/28. It didn't change the submission date the next day, which I thought was encouraging. However, it changed to 1/1 on the first, then reset to 12/28.

That's also when my activity counts went wonky again, normally displaying 6 until I click on one, then displaying 200 minus however many notifications I've gotten since the first, which is currently 192/195.

Stories keep getting rejected as AI even though no AI used to write stories. Grammerly is used for punctuation help only

Hey, I submitted a story edit for The Night that Changed Everything on 12/27/2025. It's been disappeared from the pending 3 days ago but the page still contains the old version. From the previous messages, I infer that it will take two days to update the cache, so just wanted to check.

I think it would be better to have an intermediate status, or just a notification that it has been queued or something. Thanks.

In my experience, edits are available as soon as published, with no caching.

what's the next recommended step? Should I submit the edit again?
Edit: I submitted again, it went out of pending 2 days ago still not updated. No response from the support.

FWIW:
After having great difficulty getting one published at the end of summer, last year, I tried again with another this week. it was published within about 36 hours.
I hope this problem has, generally, gotten better for everyone, and not just me.

I finally got the current version of the story I originally submitted on 2025-09-21 published yesterday.

It may be coincidence, but the last thing I did was change the title after the submitted date on the previous attempt would occasionally glitch to a date from the previous submission, which I had deleted before submitting that one.

Yesterday, after my EDITED story sat in Pending status for 52 days (on top of the 45 days it spent in Pending status the first time, for a total of 97 days), it was finally updated: https://www.literotica.com/s/travel-nurse-or-the-last-word

Again, this is not a new story, it's a story I resubmitted for revision. Typically, new stories I submit have taken 36-72 hours until they're published, depending on what time of day I submit the story -- stories tend to get published around 9:00 AM UTC.

This is part 1 of 3. I'll submit a revision of part 2 soon. Part 3 isn't finished yet; I think it'll be ready for submission in 2-3 weeks, but I might wait until the revised part 2 is published before submitting part 3.

Lesson learned is that for edited stories, even those with minimal changes (a typo or two, commas added or removed, a couple temporal inconsistencies), I now expect at least 7 WEEKS for the update to be published.
Update: I submitted the revision of part 2 that I referred to as coming "soon" in my last post on this thread. It was posted last night, 8 days after I submitted my story edit. So whatever delay problem some of us had been experiencing might now have been solved. Maybe one or more editors took some time off, who knows.

I still haven't submitted my brand-new part 3 yet; I've been doing a full-pass edit of it almost every day this past week and I keep finding small changes I want to make. Agonizing over every word is part of my process, for better or worse.

From your lips...
I submitted a new story (actually a new chapter) yesterday. For several hours, its "Pending" status reflected the date and time I submitted it. After I woke this morning, when I checked again, the Pending status submitted datetime reflected midnight last night as the time associated with the story, so basically deducting about 8 hours from the time that story had been submitted.

That seemed weird. It still does.

Change seems to be afoot.

It sounds like your story was kicked back, it will be interesting to see if it ends up in pending purgatory. That (date change) seemed to be the pattern that others were experiencing, from previous threads

It'll be different either way. I've been submitting stories here for years, most are well-received, and at least since the first few times, my turnaround time between submitting a new story and it being posted has been about 36 hours. I assumed that the relatively short time I'd been experiencing between submission and posting was because I was on some kind of whitelist. If that continues, my newest submission should be posted in about 5 more hours. But this new site behavior is different, so I don't know what to expect. I should have a better idea by the time I wake tomorrow. I will update as I learn more. In case it is relevant to anyone reading this:

Part 1 of my current story is here: https://literotica.com/s/travel-nurse-or-the-last-word
Part 2 of my current story is here: https://literotica.com/s/travel-nurse-or-the-monte-cassino
Part 3 of my current story is Pending
Part 4 of my current story (the final part?) is in progress.
