The Original Star Trek was so good because it was so bad. The acting was terrible, the dialogue was, at times, stupid, the sets were cheaply done. It was wonderful.

The two newer spin offs were awful. The had good writers and state of the art animation.

Capt. Kirk and his crew ruled.

As a scripwriter with ambition, I'll have to protest. They did not have good writers. Card house plots and characters with the solidness and register of jellyfish, but none of the boyancy or sting. That's why they were awful.

The original crap was bad enough to be great, the new crap wasn't good enough to be endurable.
