If you were given...

Hawaii or the Bahamas! :D Only because I have been to plenty of tropical paradises but strangely never those two.

The only place I haven't been to is Italy

I'd love to experience their movie archives, theaters, and the culture itself.

Been to 15 different countries throughout Europe
Switzerland, Italy, France, etc, coast to coast in Canada
Last trip was to Iceland

Next trip has to be to the far north to see my first grandbaby, like, north of thor

After that...I'd be happy with remote fishing destinations

Can’t you fish while visiting the baby, north of thor? Make sure it’s summer, during a run.

He's not leaving Canada.

There is a lake nearby where there are plenty of fish, though.

Rishikesh, India

It would be fun/interesting to do a teacher training over there. Plus, I've always wanted to go.

Last time I visited we did go to a lodge fishing..pretty expensive though.
Trophy lake trout type stuff

She has a truck and canoe so I will likely venture out a bit to some of the spots.

75 lake trout in 11 hours of fishing for the 2 of us...yeah, plenty of fish

Not like fishing graying on the Delta R. A fish every cast. It actually gets boring after a bit.

We were catching Grayling from shore waiting for the guide to cook lunch.

The Lake Trout ran 15 - 25 lbs a piece with a definite shot at a 30 or 40 lber
Takes a while to reel them in.

And catching lots of fish DOES NOT get boring

I'm a tourist at heart. Wherever I go, I look around, even when I have some other purpose, like a conference , continuing education, or sporting event. Does Dawson count as untouristy enough?

Okay, maybe if you sent me to South Africa's western cape, I could just hang out and drink local wines rather than sight see... if I had a blindfold. I could go to France just to drink cognac, I suppose.

I think the cape would be interesting to see and sail around but I'm no longer physically capable of taking the kind of pounding the ocean can produce there. I have to limit my touristy things to milder places these days.

Since this is a what if ...

Area 51, where I'd be given a tour of everything that has gone on there and is going on there, and expected to go on there.

If you were given free tickets to anywhere in the world, EXCEPT a "traditional vacation destination" (Like Hawaii or the Bahamas, etc) where would you go and why?

the recent thought process.

If I was given a vagina instead of a penis, my life would be different. But given how it went, not so much, cept I could control my opening sexual escapades better.

And as like most people Im sure I got part of both.Just Im not complaiing or double checking.

Now THAT would be an interesting vacation.

I'd start in Heidelberg, Germany - considered to be an inspiration to many artists and basically the muse city for Twain during Huckleberry Finn. But there is so much more of Germany I would want to visit....the beautiful, the sad, the historical. I would need a month, maybe two....

I spent 2 weeks in Berlin/Potsdam and still missed seeing a lot of stuff.

Amsterdam/ Netherlands.
I would love to see the canals and the beautiful architecture.
also I head you can get real fucked up there.

I’d like to go to the Klondike, maybe Pan for gold in a stream. I’ve been all around the world, mostly tours.
