Illusion Vale: A Spirit's Cry

Noah and Drakalin

After some careful consideration, Drak shook his head and handed Noah some of the plates and dirty implements and they both washed away the day's meal in small creek that bubbled merrily through Redtree. As they returned to camp, Drak having given Noah the job of packing away the cooking equipment into packs, the fox man asked,

"What was that you did? Was it... magic?"

Drak nodded, looking absently up into the stars above. His voice came out slightly distracted as he answered, "Dragoons have long been the guardians to the Dragons as their mighty race dwindles. Many species are chosen, but first among them are the Elves. As well as the natural magic that we possess, when sworn in as Dragoons, we are also given the magic that our charges possess. Eliadha was my dragon," his voice became soft as a note of sadness entered it, "She was killed many many seasons ago."

He sighed and then seemed to shake himself, "Enough of such talk. I'm sure you have other questions, especially ones pertaining to our current mission." He would talk about anything to Noah, anything but his dead dragon.

At long last the trees folded back, giving way to open plains and sunny skies. As it did, the twitchy funk Jay had decended into folded back as well. He had felt cramped, confined and always looking over his shoulders while wandering in the woods. Not that Rocky would have led him astray or get him lost, but Jay easilly lost track of time in the woods. Hours, days and weeks blended together into an endless mishmash of marching and camping. Hell, Jay had never been a Boy Scout before, but he figured he should have gotten his camping merit badge with about a million clusters or something by now.

Jay looked up, blinking into the daylight above and took a great, heaving breath. He marched out into the open, feeling the tall grass brush against his legs as he did. He felt the warm sun beating down on his back and could see waving grass for miles.

*Fuckin' A!*

Jay's walking had gotten much better as the days had gone on. He still had difficulty moving faster than that, but it too had improves somewhat, even if he had never really been able to 'let go' and open up into a real run.
He missed running. The track had been one of the very few places where he had not only been accepted, but excelled. It was his solice and his strength. More than that, it just felt right. Now at last was an open field with many criss crossing animal paths under an open sky.

Coudron pointed north east and smiled, "That way lies Vakare!"

Jay smiled, his head tossing as he pranced about.

*Well then, let's go!*

Michael and Sila

The tunnels were dark and the only thing that guided the two warriors was the occasional wet thump. They both prayed with all they had that it wasn't what they feared most that made that sickening sound. Renvir paused, "Wait lad!" he called softly to Michael and he cupped a hand to his ear, leaning down to listen to the earth. They had come to a series of tunnels and were hesitant on which to take. They had to get it right on the first try.

Renvir heard that distant thumping sound again, but it seemed different somehow; hollow, almost. It sounded like it came from the left furthermost tunnel, but Renvir shook his head, taking a cue from his instincts and moving into the middle tunnel. "Come lad, the tunnels make funny noises this deep," he said, in almost a whisper but know that the wolf would hear him. All that he feared from the warrior at his side was that a battle frenzy would overwhelm him and he wouldn't be able to tell friend from foe.

The monster should not have taken the poor child. Anyone but Sila.

***********

Sila struggled in the grip of the nameless being. It made almost no noise, except for a sickening thud. She wasn't even sure if it had legs, for she felt that it seemed to just slide along the ground. She looked up, trying to see her kidnapper but it was evident that she couldn't even see the slimy muscles that had wrapped themselves around her.

She struggled to free her hands and once done, she clapped them frantically together, willing the fire inside her to ignite. Nothing happened and she realised with a sickening of her stomach that her magic was useless around this creature.

Suddenly it squeezed tight and she screamed, the sound echoing over the walls and traveling down the tunnels. And idea came to her and she began to scream again and again, her voice echoing along the earthen barriers between her and her love.

It seemed that the being took offense to her however and with a flick slammed her against the side of the current tunnel they were in. Sharp object poked against her skin, seeking to break it and she struggled against both the probe and the darkness that threatened her mind after being slammed against the hard earth.

She gave one last almight scream before she fell unconscious.

"Dragoons have long been the guardians to the Dragons as their mighty race dwindles. Many species are chosen, but first among them are the Elves. As well as the natural magic that we possess, when sworn in as Dragoons, we are also given the magic that our charges possess. Eliadha was my dragon. She was killed many many seasons ago."

And what exactly possessed him to do such a thing was beyond even Noah. He moved forward and slipped his arms around the other and hugged him. Of course it was in the middle of the hug he realized that he was hugging a strange man... He leapt back and laughed nervously. "Sorry... You just... just sounded so sad..." He blanked. "I thought a hug might help..." Oh yeah this other guy was going to kill him. He would never had done such a think in his regular life.

"Enough of such talk. I'm sure you have other questions, especially ones pertaining to our current mission."

"Well... basically we're here to save the world?" He asked. Of course he knew that. "But... how? I mean... is there some sort of sword somewhere? Or... do you need a..." His mind went to sacrifice and he stopped himself. "a... a... magic spell or potion?" He queried.

Michael followed Renvir into the center tunnel, his battle rage barely being withheld. He would need it when he faced the creature. He ran along the tunnel, moving as fast as he could without losing Renvir. It was then he heard the screams.

It was Sila, he knew her voice, he released a howl in response, trying to reassure that he was coming. The screams suddenly stopped. Michael roared with fury and kept running, he must be getting close, how fast could this creature possibly be?

Danae and Sishota

"Maybe, since we are taking a longer lunch break for the horses, you could teach me stuff like...how to make a fire, and cook over it like you do? Might be usual stuff to know. I don't have the everyday skills of this world. What do you use for money?"

The air elemental thought about this for about two seconds and then a bright smile graced her features, "Ah yes, that would be a most excellent idea indeed!" she exclaimed and then frowned, thinking about the back end of the question, "Well, we have three denominations. Copper, silver and then Gold. There are 100 coppers to a silver and then a further 100 silvers to a gold coin. As we're all under the same governement system, all coins have the Spirit engraved on them. It wasn't always thus and it was implemented to avoid confusion and conflict between merchants," she smiled and produced one coin of each from a pack that was near her. "See?"

"How am I supposed to carry stuff when we aren't together? I mean...I'll be naked and stuff-less anywhere I swim to when I become human again..."

Shota laughed and gestured around them, "Don't worry. That's what I'm here for. Many of your species have what is called a 'companion'. Or for want of a better word, a servant, that carries their supplies and does other domestic duties for them." She bowed her head humbly, "For the while you are here, I will be that Guide and Companion. Though, I won't take orders from you," she smiled gently to take the sting from her words. "We're friends, nothing more."

Being called a chicken is what had the beautiful avian laughing so hard. So it was obvious that that would the thing that the other would always call her. It was affectionate and while it could be an insult it was obvious that it was not meant that way.

"Don't worry. Everything will work out. We can hardly ask you to solve everything. But yes, perhaps staying and helping as best we can would be advisable. Don't worry Fay. You are strong enough. You have the most beautiful soul I've ever seen and you truly possess a grand and compassionate heart. I've only seen those things in a few people. And one of those was the Spirit herself."

Fay felt like blushing, her cheeks had officially begun to burn. It was obvious that that compliment meant a lot to her. She loved the wolf, it had become her best friend... more like a sister to her in the short amount of time they had been together. She sighed happily as the wolf rested her head on her lap, absently she rubbed the lovely fur that was Faelin's as she slipped into thought. It was night to have a canine with her and doing such things for her.

For a moment she had forgotten that Faelin was not more than just a wolf. And was surprised at her talking, not that she jumped. "I think that is something that we must do together. I would love to see your home," she explained picking up where her other fingers had slowed down.

"And no, you're not going to marry that pompous ass!"

She laughed. "Well... if not that... how are we going to take this city right out from underneathe his-" it was then she gasped. She realized something that they could do. "How... Would he expect an uprising? Of all of the villagers?"

Kat and Rylia

“I wasn’t being rude I was about to offer you some of the rabbit until the deer could cook. How was I to know if you could even kill anything as slow and cumbersome as your body is? Besides you haven’t proven yourself to be overly caring to me so far, why should I worry if I hurt your precious feelings spider.”

Suddenly a log was flying towards Rylia, her eyes flashed and in an instant her swords were out, the steel glinting in the moonlight as both blades slashed through the thick wood, splitting the log to either side of the Dryder. Instead of glaring with anger towards the demoness, the strange drow actually laughed.

It wasn't a laugh of malice, nor of contempt. Rather, it was a laugh of genuine mirth. "So, you do have some spunk after all, do you, demoness?" she asked quietly, but the other was already eating. Having ignored what ever result would come of her own actions. She shook her head, "I do not understand you sometimes, Kat. I'm sure you feel the same way about me." She muttered slowly under her breath, sure the other would hear.

She set about making her own meal and soon had a large slab of meat and several vegetables roasting on the fire. She silently offered Kat some and watched the demoness in silence for the rest of the night. Tomorrow they would reach Fisher's Village and she supposed she would find out Kat's mettle once they did.

She had a feeling that Kat's dreams were linked to another dark soul. Somehow and somewhere in the Vale. For some strange reason, she knew it would all come to a head in Fisher's Village and she also knew that it would be the time of reckoning for Kat. For some reason, she also knew that what ever the demoness chose, she would follow.

Bah! She thought to herself, you're getting too soft! The night would be a long one for her, but she knew that she'd get through it.

Eeth and Van

"Alas, not even close Eeth. The fight yesterday lasted around ten minutes. The chant itself only takes five, but a further fifteen the twenty minutes to dissolve into the host, so to speak. In other words, a half hour or more will be how long you need to last."

Eeth looked doubtfully at Rolyn. He could’ve sworn the fight had lasted at least 20 minutes. “Are you sure the fight lasted only 10 minutes, Rolyn? I thought it lasted at least twice as long,” said Eeth. He wasn’t really expecting an answer, he was simply checking. If it was only 10 minutes, then his sense of time was horribly off.

"Okay! Eeth eat enough! Van teach now! Eeth close eyes and listen. Listen carefully. Little cat screaming inside Eeth, Eeth need to listen to little cat. Ehhh... Van mean little Elf. Yesh, little little Eeth Elf inside. Tell Van what Eeth hear."

“Ahh, meditation. I can do that,” said Eeth. He indeed could focus his thoughts and clear his mind, which is required for mediation. He had years of practice as a Navajo.

Eeth shifted so he was sitting cross legged, and proceeded to clear his mind. His eyes were closed, his back stiff and straight, and his breathing slow and steady. Soon, Eeth was in deep meditation, almost completely oblivious to the surrounding world. Eeth had moved into the realm of his mind.

Eeth found himself sitting on a butte in northeastern Arizona, looking out over a vast desert landscape. Heat waves rose from the ground, giving everything around a shimmer, but Eeth felt not the heat, nor did he sweat. He sat silent upon the butte, and the world was silent with him. Not a creature stirred, no wind rustled the dry brush. All was silent.

Then a sound reached Eeth’s ears, seemingly from the earth itself: a whisper, a whisper so quiet, that even in the silence, Eeth could not make out the words.

Then something wet landed on Eeth’s head. He looked up, but there were no clouds in the sky. Another drop, again on the top of Eeth’s head, not his upturned face. He was puzzled, the whisper lost. Eeth looked around, yet another drop on his head. The world around him faded and replaced by another.

Eeth had returned to the real world. He was still sitting on the floor of the cave. A drop of water landed on his head and he looked up. Water was seeping through the roof of the cave. He ignored the continuing dripping of water on his head as he looked at Van.

“I heard a whisper, but what it was saying, I could not tell,” he said, somewhat quietly. In all the years he had done meditation for the various Navajo ceremonies, he never had an experience quite like this.

"Well, we have three denominations. Copper, silver and then Gold. There are 100 coppers to a silver and then a further 100 silvers to a gold coin. As we're all under the same government system, all coins have the Spirit engraved on them. It wasn't always thus and it was implemented to avoid confusion and conflict between merchants,"

"So your money is on the deca system." She fingered the coin and studied the engraving.

"Though, I won't take orders from you," she smiled gently to take the sting from her words. "We're friends, nothing more."

She let that pass for now, because if the whole reason she was here was to do some great feat, that might change, but for now she was a newborn in a strange world.

"One other thing. How do I protect myself?" She stretched out a clawed hand. "I'm sure I could mess someone up with these, but...It sounds like we are going into danger, and I know a little basic self defense, and that's it."

Asterion and Lira

While she had said she was willing to die, those actually faced with their own mortality often changed their tune and begged for life. Lira was not one to become frightened and try to barter for her continued survival, but instead seemed to revel in the fact that she could die, slowly and painfully, but the hands of this creature above her. And her answer to his questions was even more perplexing than her behavior.

“I know all that there is." She continued, saying that she was unafraid because she knew him to be a killer, a being bent only on spreading terror and fear. Asterion shook his head at the absurdity of the situation. First Fell, and now Lira. He began to feel as if he were a magnet for these types of creatures. A dark presence that other perverted souls gravitated towards as a moth flies to a flame.

As he thought, he felt the dull bite of her claw on his leg. It wasn’t enough force to draw blood, but enough to graze the surface. It drew Asterion from his conscious thoughts back to his primal urges. She reached up to him, placing her hands on either side of his head, and drew his lips down to hers. Her sharp teeth nipped the end of his lips, and a small trickle of blood flew from him to her as she kissed him. She lay back and sighed in ecstasy.

“You are delicious…”

He pulled back from her and raised his hand to his lip. The cut on his lip was only big enough to draw a trickle of blood, but who was she to feel that she had the right to do such a thing? He raised his hand, ready to send his hand flying to her face, just to put her back in her place, a submissive under him. As his hand came to shoulder level and the muscles in his arm, chest and stomach tightened for the blow, Lira closed her eyes and smiled, as if she wanted him to hit her, even to kill her. As her naked body continued to writhe under him, she dug her claws into his legs and a thin smile drew to her face.

She was serious in everything she had said. She was willing to die by his hand. While he wanted to hit her with every fiber of his conscious being, the company of a woman was something his primal body was yearning for. He could feel the pulsating heat between his legs. He brought his hand down with tremendous force, smashing the ground to the side of her head with his clenched fist. The straw under his knuckles crunched into dust and a small cloud was kicked up under the impact.

“You shall not die by my hand tonight, Lira. Tonight, you are mine in any way I choose,” Asterion said, leaning down close to her again. “And tomorrow you will tell me everything…”

Kat and Rylia

Having filled her belly with fresh meat and even having nibbled at the plate Rylia had offered later. She had heard the muttered words and had wanted to comment but was lost in her own thoughts.
That night as she slept her dreams had become clearer the Minotaur and some other creature a female had been part of them. Rylia and a shadowy figure had looked on in actual pleasure watching them lay waste to the small village. Kat had felt not only pleasure but also a surge of power knowing what she had done. At first that had frightened her but now upon waking so early in the morning, she laid thinking back on the dream and smiled. For once it would feel good to be the one in control. Her whole life back on earth she had seemed to bow to everyone else’s wishes. But perhaps here she would finally know what it felt like to take that power and use it for what she wanted. Something in the back of her mind reminded her this was the wrong attitude to take, but she easily ignored it.
Standing up stretching she watched Rylia and glanced down at the stream near them. Slipping away a she stripped off her dress and stepped into the stream stifling a cry at the coldness then dunked herself washing away the travel dust and grime on her body. She shivered feeling the cold-water wash over her and then sighed thinking how glorious it felt to be clean again. Wading up out of the water she wrung her hair out and settled back letting the sun dry her as it rose. Wondering if today would be the day they reached the village Rylia had spoke of.

Jay and Coudron

*Well then, let's go!*

Coudron nodded, relieved to see that the horse was finally getting his bearings. The endless sea of waving, green grass was slightly distracting and it took some of Coudron's considerable will power to avoid setting the entire place on fire. Somehow, he didn't think that Jay would have appreciated that.

He began to amble along, the horse prancing near him, clearly eager to really stretch out his long legs and run. Finally Coudron laughed and nodded, letting the horse run free.

He watched with an eagle's eye as Jay pranced around, taking himself up to a slight canter and then after getting the hang of it, finally opening up the throttle. Coudron wasn't sure if Jay heard his warning not to go too far, but it made sense to keep within seeing distance. At least, Coudron hoped that it would make sense to the horse.

He slowly shook his head and began to trot after the galloping horse, easily following the whinnies and neighs of pure delight. Luckily, Jay was staying in the general direction that Vakare lay. "He's going to burn himself out." Muttered the huge molten rock formation that was Coudron.

Noah and Drakalin

"Well... basically we're here to save the world? But... how? I mean... is there some sort of sword somewhere? Or... do you need a... a... a... magic spell or potion?"

Drak didn't mention the hug, rather he just seemed to have ignored it but deep down inside, he knew that somehow Noah had eased some of the great pain he had felt since Eliadha's death.

Drak shook his head, taking his time to gather his thoughts and reply. "No, I don't believe that saving the Vale would be such a simple undertaking," he made it sound so easy! "But my first and foremost priority is to take you The Spirit. Its not all that long a journey, perhaps a week or two for she lives in Vale City to the north of us."

He shrugged, remembering suddenly the feel of Noah's soft furry arms around him. Without quite knowing why, he shivered though the night was perfectly warm, the fire crackling merrily and casting a deep orange glow.

"Anything else?" He asked, secretly hoping that Noah would continue to talk.

Michael and Sila

The Slither slid along the ground, the wet pulsing of its heartbeat clear to be heard in the entombing darkness. It did not seem to breath, nor did it seem to have any facial features save for a row of devastatingly long, jagged teeth. It seemed blind to the world, yet it used its many tentacles to feel the way and continued to slush through the tunnels.

The walls were beginning to get wetter now, the darkness hiding the mossy, slippery surface of the rock surrounding them. With Sila unconscious and wrapped in one hard, pulsing tentacle, the Slither moved almost silently through the tunnels, ignoring the sounds of close pursuit.

It suddenly turned off into a large chamber, light filtering through the highly domed ceiling, a slight green tinge emanating from the phospherescent glow hidden by stalactites high above.

Though the green murky darkness, it could be seen that the monster who had taken Sila, the 'Slither' as it so called itself was revealed. It stood at least twenty feet high, eighteen tentacles extended from is base and it seems to be a moving, living statue. It was made of living rock and tinged green by the moss that grew madly over it.

It had no eyes and no other features other than its teeth which were located at the very top of the Slither. It looked rather like an upside down octopus.

And all around it, glowing red, were twenty large pod like rock formations scattered through out the chamber. Eggs.

"No, I don't believe that saving the Vale would be such a simple undertaking. But my first and foremost priority is to take you The Spirit. Its not all that long a journey, perhaps a week or two for she lives in Vale City to the north of us."

Why was Noah thinking of those video games that he had bought for his kids. Secretly, he had gotten them so he could play them too. There was really nothing for him to do with his wife, she didn't like him, he didn't like her so it made sense for him to spend time away from her.

"Anything else?"

"Do... Do you know how I'll be getting back... I promise I won't run off if you tell me... I'm not in a hurry but there are some kids back at home that I love..." He explained. "Not really much else back home but... I'd miss my kids you know?" He offered trying not to get worried about them, there mother was still there, they would be taken care of until he got back.

"You don't have kids do you?" He asked. "You don't look near old enough... Not that I know how I found myself married to someone I don't like..." He said laughing mirthlessly.

Michael barreled through the caves with Renvir on his heels, still pursuing the creature. Light began to be seen, dim at first but slowly growing. "We have it Renvir! It is ours!" michael roared as he emerged into a dimly lit chamber, and saw the creature, and the red rocks surrounding the area. "Saints preserve us." Michael said as he looked upon the massive beast. "What manner of beast is this?"

Fay and Faelin

"Well... if not that... how are we going to take this city right out from underneathe his- How... Would he expect an uprising? Of all of the villagers?"

Faelin looked up at Fay, slightly disturbed that her fingers had stopped stroking her fur. Then the question reached her ears and she was forced to laugh. "No, Pheldom will not expect that, simply because it would never happen." She shook her head, barking another laugh and smiling in her wolfish way at the avian that towered over her, "The city folk are either too scared or too poor. Those that can pay their own way are often greedy enough to be bought into silence." She once again shook her head.

"A sad state of affairs, Ravenwing. But there it is," then she paused, tilting her head and squinting at the avian, "Although...." she let the sentence lie, however there was a glint of something in her large yellow eyes. It was clear that she was planning something.

Eeth and Van

“I heard a whisper, but what it was saying, I could not tell,”

Rolyn's eyes went wide when he heard that Eeth had actually managed to hear something, even thought it hadn't been much, it was still something. And on his first try! He knew that Eeth was remarkable, not only because he was a Guardian, but also because of the person he had been before being transported to this world. Silently he thanked the Old Gods that they had chosen wisely.

Van simply nodded, mewing slightly and not in the least surprised by Eeth's achievements. The young elf, he knew, grew in leaps and bounds and his capabilities were as yet uncharted.

"Good. Eeth do well, now Eeth try again and again. This time, Eeth need reach out, need try calling what Eeth hear." Once again, this would be very difficult but Van had no worries that Eeth wouldn't be able to complete this task, at least eventually.

Danae and Sishota

"One other thing. How do I protect myself? I'm sure I could mess someone up with these, but...It sounds like we are going into danger, and I know a little basic self defense, and that's it."

Shota nodded her head, pleased that Danae was thinking about the time ahead. They had a while yet before they reached their destination and it was vital that the selkie learn all that she could before then.

"I know some defence. My abilities often serve to be enough for my defence, but I know that yours are different. I can try to teach you how to unlock those abilities, what ever they may be."

She smiled gently, "At noon we can begin your lessons, on all things about the Vale as well as simple defence and the such. Some days we will need to rest, we cannot travel every day and for now I must prepare you to cross a part of the Ethari Plains, a great desert. For a selkie, that will be extremely difficult, but I will teach you how."

Asterion and Lira

“You shall not die by my hand tonight, Lira. Tonight, you are mine in any way I choose. And tomorrow you will tell me everything…”

Lira just smiled and shivered delicately beneath his brutish form, her curved lips pouting ever so slightly, inviting him to take her as he wished. She continued to writhe under him, continued to provoke him in her little wicked way. She leaned up and licked the blood from his lips once again, her eyes sparkling with genuine pleasure as she tasted his salty, copper tang.

She moved and twined her legs around his waist. "Make it count." She whispered into his ear and giggled, nipping at one of his horns in delight. She wanted to make him angry, she wanted him to lose his temper. Oh, she knew he wouldn't kill her, it was what he would do without killing her that thrilled her to the bone.

She hissed in his ear and giggled once again, "Take me!" she dared to command once more and her hand boldly reached down to clasp his heat. Her eyes went wide at the hardness of him and she grinned, "My, you're a big boy..." she giggled again and tightened her hold, deliberately hurting him and drawing a grunt from the minotaur. "Yes...."

This night would be a release for both of them....

Kat and Rylia

Rylia awoke early, as she often tended to do. She watched with curiosity as Kat slept, murmuring in her sleep and tossing and turning. Her eyes were glued to the Demoness as she nibbled on some cold meat, not bothering to raise the campfire from its ashes with new life.

The Drider looked discreetly away as Kat rose from her fitful slumber and without a word went for a dip in the cold water. Rylia watched as she washed and bathed and barely blinked, her mind racing with possibilities and the like. There were endless questions inside her head and she somehow felt that reaching the village would answer at least some of them.

"Who are you?" she whispered into the chill morning air, sure that Kat couldn't hear her.

The camp was packed and Rylia was ready to go in short order. She skipped along the sandy packed ground and went over to Kat, "Come, we must leave now or we won't make the village before night fall."

She didn't make any mention of the previous night at all. In fact, it was as if she had forgotten it.

Kat and Rylia

Kat looked up as she heard the Drider coming towards her.

"Come, we must leave now or we won't make the village before night fall."

Kat merely nodded and donned the dress made for her by Rylia and silently followed along. She had questions she wished to ask about the area but chose to keep silent.
Her eyes flitted along the shoreline as they traveled noting the boats far out and wondering again what she was doing here. Her eyes swiveled back to Rylia and she opens her mouth to speak. “Rylia, I am curious, what your gain in our little adventure is? Do you get something for delivering me safe and sound to the Spirit, or are you here out of the goodness of your own heart?” She hopes her words are just sarcastic enough to evoke some type of answer from the creature. She just wanted some truthful answers for a change not some patted answer as she had been getting. She wasn’t even sure of whom she was anymore since coming here, but she did like the body she had been given and the power. Something about it just felt right, after fighting for justice and putting down the evilness in her job back in the other world. To be set free to wreak some hell she felt good. Smirking, not that she would openly admit this to anyone.

Asterion and Lira in the Hovel

The smallish woman seemed to be excited by his anger. She writhed under him as he slammed his fist into the packed dirt, her eyes sparkling as the fire in his eyes rose. She writhed sensually under him, urging him on.

He was not planning on disappointing such a beautiful thing on this night. He leaned close to her and smiled a wicked smile. She licked his still bleeding lip again, rolling her eyes back in ecstasy as she tasted the blood. She was a curious one, that fact was undisputable. She nipped at one of his horns, drawing her claws across the smooth, curved surface. Her eyes widened as she smiled, something about her seemed to just ooze sensuality and lust. She continued to nip at him and rake her claws across his flesh. The squeeze she gave him was just enough to take him over the edge. He had let her play enough. He pulled her arms above her head and pinned them there with one of his strong hands.

“Enough playtime, Lira," he said to her in a gruff voice as his smile widened across his face. He took her roughly on the floor, pining her arms above her head on the packed dirt floor with one hand and holding her body down with the other.

It was a night he had been dreaming of for some time. Being in prison all those years, and on the streets for so many before, he had rarely had the pleasure of female company. He was going to make this night of unbridled animalistic lust one neither he nor her would forget for some time.

Elmhand and Mia

Elmhand’s attention wandered around as Mia thought things over and said things that did not require a reply. He noticed many things, both about and around him. First, he noticed that there were many creatures wandering around, mostly ignoring Elmhand, but a few did glance his way. Second, he noticed his feet. They seemed to be rooted to the ground, but he knew that if he so desired, he could simply pick them up and move. The last thing he noticed was the trees. They seemed to have fallen silent, as if waiting on something.

Then Mia asked when he wanted to leave. He wasn’t in any hurry, and didn’t see the need to rush things either, so he simply said this: “You are the guide. Whenever you wish to go, I shall follow.”
