Honestly, it'll probably be safer then than it is now. During an event like the Olympics, the security "industry" expects attacks. Today, it didn't. Which is one reason these groups strike on "random" days - though this seems to coincide with the G8 and the Olympic announcement and was probably meant for the former - and far from their primary target if it's too heavily guarded (as the G8 summit presumably is).

While I'm no terrorism expert, I am a historian, and Vietnam taught us that lesson. As did the IRA.
