I'm Such a Pussy

I hate to admit this, but the one movie that I get real emotuional about every time I see it is... "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock". The scene with the fireball in the sky as the Enterprize burns up in the atmosphere chokes me up every time.

And you all thought DCL was a pussy for getting weepy over "It's a Wonderful Life"!

Shakespeare in Love, at the end, when she is leaving, and he says "you will never age for me, nor fade..." So sad.
Also, Beaches, and this new Christmas movie I bought for the kids in my class at the daycare center, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas. I don't know why, but I get all choked up at the end of each vinette.

Steel Magnolias

I cried so hard during this movie that I missed the last 20 minutes and was still crying for half an hour after the movie.
But for other tearjerkers...anybody remember those phone commercials? I was pregnant when they were running. Couldn't turn on the TV without the waterworks.

My Life

Terms of Endearment and Steel Magnolias have to be the ultimate tear jerkers for me, along with "The Green Mile", "Philadelphia", "Amadeus", and "Titanic"... I just can't help it at the scene where the mother tucks her children into bed, and the old people hold each other one last time... and then seeing all those brand new, unused dishes floating around. That last one, more than the other ones, will get me every time.

Whew... I think I should go get my Kleenex now.

This bothered me all day - I love movies but can't remember ever actually crying over one. "Philadelphia" is sad with that Pyrrhic victory ending and "Old Yeller" is awfully sad. I guess I am just defective :(

Following up on the Jack Nicklaus vein, there are some really sad real sports events
1) Dave Dravecky's arm snapping and when his cancer returned requiring amputation. Unbelievably tragic.
2) Ruffian, the filly that broke her leg and had to be destroyed after that challenge race.
3) The sadness surrounding Hank Gathers' death and the run Loyola Marymount tried to make without him was inspiring.
4) Walter Payton's demise. Real life deja vu for Bears fans after Brian Piccolo.

When I was a kid I used to always cry when I watched Baby Boom with Diane Keaton. It was this one scene where she was going to give the baby up for adoption (to this wretched hick couple) and the baby starts crying-all you mother's know that heart wrenching cry. I was a VERY sentimental kid and I bawled just like the baby. LOL
My brother teased my relentless for that one.

I also cried the first time I saw Braveheart-of course, it was like 4am and I'm always emotional on no sleep. :)

I cry whenever I watch My Dog Skip-the ending is SO sad. And I love animals.

Hell, I cry far too much. Of course, this is never infront of anyone, on in the privacy of my own room. Gotta be the tough girl. :)

Parts of Titanic are so bad I can't stand to watch them, but I know that every time I do see that movie I can't help but get weapy at the parts when the mother tucks her children in and the old couple are cuddling in bed. The part in that movie when I really lost it was when the band resumed playing and started playing "Nearer My God to Thee" or whatever that song was. I lost it.

"The Green Mile" turns me into a faucet at the end. Seeing all those grown men crying turns me into such a sap. :(

My Life was such a button pusher for tears it was awful!

Ghost. <sigh> I cry more and more every damn time I see that movie! You'd think it would get better the more times I see it.
