"I'm thankful for...": the Lit version

I’m thankful for the local PD sending two officers to our house this morning at 7:30am and checking all the doors and windows. They think a bird crashed into a window and set off the alarm. We talked to them remotely on our doorbell. They were super polite, thorough, and professional and didn’t seem to mind that it was a false alarm.

I've pretty much grown up here and learned so much - I'm grateful to everyone for that, because you've all touched me in some way. And for Lit as well - it's given me a chance to stretch my writing wings, for the feedback and help. We are a community and we do look out for each other.

Can we have the cake and party hats yet?

I was reading the thread about our characters, (Your characters after they are done being written) in which I expressed my feeling that I have only ever written a piece of their stories, that there is much more that I have not told. It made me feel a sense of gratitude for these "people", these companions of my imagination, who have allowed me to share them with others through my writing.

So thank you, Mary and Alvin, and all your family and friends. Thanks to Roxanne and Clover and everyone at the Gold Dollar Lounge. Thank you, Ranger Ramona, and thanks to your motley crew of friends and lovers. Thanks, Abby and Luke, thank you Willie Roses. Thanks to Michelle and Laurel, happy in their home on the Oyster River, thanks to Kitty Boyd, forever skating her way through life. Thanks to Emma and Zach and Bart, the sparrow. Thanks to every character who has wandered through my mind and into my words.

Wherever you came from, wherever you went, thank you for spending some time with me.

I give the same thx to my fantasy alternate reality counterpart Doug Ramsay, his warrior therapist wife Lisa, and all their associates.
