I'm With the Band (Closed)

Jake handed off the microphone to Lex as she reached for it. Grinning as she called out Reckless Victory and all of their names. The cheers and hoots from the crowd going wild again.

Catching the stage hand from the corner of his eye, he stepped over and held Lex's hand as she moved to climb down. Leaning down to her. "Hang around." He said with a grin before standing back up and walking back to the microphone.

"Y'all have been amazing out here. We have one more song for you and make sure to check us out again tomorrow." Jake looked back and nodded at the guys and they began playing the beginning notes for their last song of the day.

Alexandra looked from his hand grabbing ahold of hers up to his eyes. She nodded with another sheepish grin when he asked her to hang around. "Don't tell me you have another duet planned?" she joked before pulling her hand from his and moved to stand more off to the side to allow the band all the attention the deserved. Her friends, however, had already been lead back town to the other side of the barricade. She laughed and rolled her eyes at Jenna who gave the a look and waggled her eyebrows.

She swayed and clapped along with the music as it started to pick up.

The crowd had been into their performance the entire time and their last song was no exception. Jake sang and the band played it to the end and the crowd went wild with cheers again.

"Again, thanks for coming to check us out. Find us online and share us around, if you enjoyed it. See you tomorrow." The four guys started piling off stage, clapping and laughing and still pumped up.

Lex hopped back down to her friends only to be greeted with a barrage of questions.

How did you meet these guys? How'd you get a VIP ticket? Did you know you were going to sing?

"Guys, stop!" She said exasperated, though laughing. "They came into the bar last night when I was working and gave me tickets. It's not that deep."

"If it's not that deep, then why did he pull you specifically for a duet?" Kalina gasped. "Are you with him?" The brunette asked with an implying look and a smirk.

Alexandra ran her hands through her hair, a nervous fidget from all the questions. "No!" She took a breath, realizing how defensive she was sounding, which would not help her case. "No, I barely know the guy. I'm just as surprised as you guys." Then she remembered she kissed him and her face flushed. Barely knowing him, she had no idea of he even had a girlfriend. Or boyfriend, if that was his thing. She grounded mentally, and shook her head at the questioning look from Jenna. "It's nothing, just a weekend full of surprises," she said dismissively, turning away from them to look up at the stage as the next band was being announced.

Jake and the guys broke their equipment down and hauled it down off the stage since they weren't big time enough to have a crew that moved it around and set it up for them. Once they loaded it all back up in the van, they all decided to take a walk around the festival and see who all was there and possibly...hopefully make some contacts.

They walked around and Jake spotted Lex talking with her friends and walked over. Getting close enough to hear her comment about barely knowing the guy.

He stepped up closer to the group hidden behind Lex from her friends as he walked up. "You talking about me?" He asked teasingly with a smile. "Hey girls. Hope y'all enjoyed the show."

Lex startled when Jake spoke behind her. "Jesus!" she cursed. Placing her hand over her chest she turned to look up at him and smiled. "It's definitely been... Memorable," she said, not quite sure how to describe the day so far.

Her group of friends behind her grinning from ear to ear as Lex startles and turns around. Seeing the smile on her face. "Memorable, huh? Ouch." Jake teased.

"I'm taking a walk around the grounds if you want to join me. I mean, you dont have to if you're planning on showcasing that singing voice again."

"Oh don't start," she teased back, giggling.

Alexandra glanced to her friends as he invited her to walk around. The three of them gave each other knowing looks, grins still plastered on their faces. "Oh, we're gonna stay here and watch these guys. You two have fun," Kalina said.

The redhead turned back to Jake and laughed. "Well unless you're singing with me, I'm not planning on anymore performances today."

Jake grinned as Lex teased and giggled in response to his. Watching her turn back to her friends as of to get an ok as they all three still grinned widely.

"No ma'am. My singing is done for today. Can't be just giving the goods away for free." He grinned at her and led her out of the gate. Glancing back over his shoulder as they walked off and seeing his three friends step to the railing and take up with the other three girls.

She followed him out the gate and fell in step beside him and followed suit in glancing over her shoulder. She wasn’t sure who was in for more of a treat, the boys or the girls.

Walking alongside him, she thought about the kiss she gave him before he brought her and her friends up on the stage. It was impulsive, more than she usually is. With how the weekend was going so far, she wondered when it would all truly turn out to be too good to be true. She thought he had been flirting with her the night before and when he came down for a break. But maybe he was just being nice? But then why would he bring her up on stage and encourage her to sing a duet and not some other random person from the crowd?

Lex worried her bottom lip, realizing she was overthinking everything without even getting his side. “I’m sorry if I was too forward earlier,” she started, looking briefly to him before casting her eyes forward again. “Y’know, kissing you. I know if I had a boyfriend and someone just kissed him outta the blue, I’d be a little miffed.” She looked over at him again. “You… don’t have a girlfriend? Or a wife, right?”

Jack walked through the festival with Lex by his side. Stopping off in front of another stage here and there to check out the performances, but moving on when he found that he didn't particularly care for the sound of the group or the twists that they were putting on the songs they were performing.

Stopping off at one of the beer stands scattered throughout the festival, he bought a plastic cup full for both of them and looked over at Lex as she bit at her lip. They had been having just light casual chat as they walked along and spoke their opinions of the performers but the conversation took a turn.

A smile forming on his lips as she rattled off her thoughts and worry. "Don't worry Lex. It wasn't too forward. A bit unexpected at the moment but not too forward." He grinned more. "And no, I don't have a girlfriend and certainly no wife. I'm guessing by the kiss, you don't either?"

Lex exhaled the breath she didn't realize she had been holding and felt herself relax. "Oh, no, definitely not," she said, shaking her head with a giggle. A small voice in the back of her head reminded her that this probably wouldn't go beyond the next couple days, given he lived 12 hours away. She pushed the thought away, arguing to herself she was allowed to enjoy the weekend and all that came with it.

She took a drink from their cup as thry continued to walk. "So what do you do besides be a rockstar?"

Jake watched Lex exhale and grinned to himself. She was nervous as hell awaiting his answer, he thought to himself. And then she said that she was single as well. He extended his free hand towards her. "Shall we?" He asked with a smile as they walked together away from the vendor's stand.

"A rockstar huh?" He grinned. "I dont know about all that. Just up there having fun with the guys. And I dont know. Not much really. Play, practice, work on my truck and our van." He made a slight face thinking about the shitbox they ride around in.

Alexandra laced her fingers through his and smiled as he brushed away her 'rockstar' statement. "Oh c'mon, did you see the way that crowd ate you guys up?" She paused as an announcement echoed through the festival venue, coming some somewhere around the main stage, saying the main show would be starting in about 10 minutes. "And not just the crowd, but my friends too? Good luck to your buddies," she added with an implying look and chuckle, smile turning to more of a mischievous smirk.

Slipping his fingers between hers, they walked together across the grounds. Jake smiled as Lex brought up how the crowd had acted towards him when he and the guys were up on the stage. "Yeah everybody did seem to get into it."

His response cut off as the announcement sounded from the load broadcast speakers. He grinned more. "Good luck to my buddies huh? I'm sure they can handle their own with your little group." Jake gave her a playful wink as he saw her smirk.

Alexandra leaned closer to him as the crowd thickened, moving from the side stages to the main stage. "Well then I guess the other question is can you handle your own?" she said, her tone suggestive, before taking another long drink of the beer in her hand.

The throngs of people began crowding around Jake and Lex as they stood in the middle of the fairgrounds. Watching as she leaned in closer to him and he heard her sugggestive question.

Jake's lips turned up in a slight smirk as Lex pulled back just far enough to take a swig from her cup. "Oh I can definitely handle my own, doll." He smiled at her. "Like good ol Kid Rock said, you never met a mother fucker quite like me." Jake downed his beer and tossed his empty cup away as they joined the crowds and mingled in.

Making their way towards the main stage, they stopped to watch the show. Jake standing behind Lex as they waited for the singers to come out.

The amphitheater erupted in cheers as the house lights went dark and the stage was backlit, making anything or anyone else appear black against the changing colors. The music started after four figures walked out on stage, and the stage lights went up, revealing Little Big Town, the first main act of the night. Next up was Luke Comb. And finally, the ground shook with excitement as Kane Brown came out on the stage.

Lex clapped and swayed and danced and sang along to the music. During a slower song she leaned back against him, enjoying his warmth and the firm muscles of his torso against ger back, and pulled on his arms to wrap them around her.

Cheering with the crowd, Jake watched as the multi colors lit up across the stage and shadowed figures walked out. The lights changed and if possible, the crowd's cheers grew even louder when everyone saw who it was.

Singing along with everyone else and dancing to the music as the acts changed. Feeling Alexandra lean back against him as the slow song started. Jake slipped his arms around her waist as she pulled them around. His thumbs hooked into the waist of her jean shorts as they slowly swayed to the music.

She rested her hands over his, and relaxed her head against his shoulder, enjoying his voice singing in her ear. Maybe he was just singing along, but Lex felt like maybe he was singing to her, for her. Especially when 'Go Around' come up in the set. Very accurate for how they met, at least.

The last song came to an end. After 2 encores, of course. She hesitated to move from where she stood against him, but turned her head to look back and up at him. "So... What now?"

Singing along lightly to the sings as he holds onto Lex. The show ends and the crowd bustles around a bit, but everyone is still packed together.

Jake smiled lightly at her as Lex turned her head to look back at him. Making no efforts to pull from his arms around her. "You tell me, doll." His thumbs still hooked in her waist and his hand on the button of her shorts.

The redhead stopped breathing for a full second when he called her doll again, waiting for her brain to catch up. She knew what her body wanted, very aware of his fingers playing at the button on her shorts. But there was that voice in the back of her head again telling her to think things through.

Blinking, Alexandra turned fully toward Jake, faces barely an inch apart. "Well," she started, running her hands up his chest and over his shoulders. "We can just say goodnight and I'll see you again tomorrow for another amazing show. Maybe another duet?" she asked, a teasing tone behind it. "Or we see where the rest of the night takes us... You pick, Rockstar."

Jake's fingers slipped from Lex's waist as she turned in his arms. His hands still staying on her body and slipping around her hips as she spun to face him. Looking down into her eyes as he felt her hands slide up his shirt over his chest and around the back of his neck.

Smiling as she referred to him as rockstar again. "Hmm, ya know, those are two really good choices. So...why not both?" Jake's hands held Lex against him as he dipped his head and pressed his lips to hers.

The noise of the crowd leaving droned to a low buzz around them. Lex melted against him as he kissed her, soft but insistent, and her fingers played with the hair at the back of his head. She pressed against him, parting her lips tilting her head to deepen the kiss. But then there was the fleeting thought that they were still in the middle of a concert venue made her pull back, and she rested her forehead against his.

She chewed her lower lip in contemplation, considering her choices for a moment. This was very much out of the ordinary for her, but then again nothing about the day had been ordinary so far. "Alright, let's go," she said slightly breathless. Alexandra released her hold from around his neck and grabbed a hand and turned to lead him towards the parking lot.

Jake felt Lex's lips mold against his and part as she leaned her body against his. His tongue slipping between her lips as it danced and wrapped around hers. Hands and arms holding them tightly against one another.

The kiss broke and Jake looked at Lex as she stood quietly for a moment with their foreheads pressed together. A fleeting thought that she was changing her mind before she spoke and grabbed his hand, pulling him along behind her.

He didn't know where she was leading him but figuring the guys may be back around the van by noe, that was a no go. "Where we headed?" He asked Lex as they crossed the fairgrounds.
