The light source is a very large window. My stance (upper body back, legs forward) filtered the sunlight through all sides. My arms actually allowed in more and/or less light depending on placement. I wanted softer edges, not to accentuate my physical imperfections, so I opened the gaps between my body and arms for more filtering light. No tricks, just a bit of patience.

Very very cool. I did think at first that it was a huge window, but it looked like it could've been your bathroom (looked like a faucet in the background) so I thought that a huge window wasn't the cause. But I really like what you did. Lots of patience definitely worked in this one. Patience with pictures is something I'm good at when looking through the lens, not so much when taking pics of myself. Thanks again for explaining it, and for sharing yourself like this.

It is my bathroom! The window is above the tub and has a pretty rain patterned glass which probably puts some wicked effects on the shot, too. It is the one place in my home that allows for a lot of great light. In truth, I'll shoot it about 30 times before I'm pleased with one shot. I'm fickled at times.
