Then after I ask a question which was valid a younger member has to make a crack about me being some sort of guru poster. I didn’t say a thing or come off any better that the next person. I made a question. It was answered by shy guy very well. The point was taken and if anything I agree to go along with it but disagree with it. As far as I know I am still permitted to do that.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth.......

I'm a new member to Lit and recently started a thread for my pics. I am not skinny, gorgeous, a model or perfect by any way shape or form. I knew when I posted the pics that I did that there would be people that did not like what they saw (thankfully nobody has told me that yet....but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later).

I don't think there is one person using this service that are perfect and possess 100% confidence when posting "their real" pictures. Putting yourself out there is part of the thrill when doing this, at least for me it is. If someone is overweight.....trust me we know it and just because someone tells us that in a post doesn't mean they should be censored or labeled a troll. They're only telling us what we already know

So next time someone bashes you....look at the big picture. At least we had the courage to let people know a part of us that most people in our everyday lives would never get to know. Take it as a compliment that they wasted their time to actually think about you enough to post something about you. You made an impact on them.....look at it that way.

Anyone that wants to bash me....feel free. I'm real and I'm a great person.....it's your choice if you want to get to know me or not I wont ignore you if your opinions are not that of my own.

If someone is overweight.....trust me we know it and just because someone tells us that in a post doesn't mean they should be censored or labeled a troll. They're only telling us what we already know.

It's less the fact that someone's saying that that someone is overweight in a general sense, but more the way that one says it. If someone came on to my thread and said "hey, you're fat, you should lose some weight" (actually, someone did basically say just that once), I'd say "yeah I do, but I'm the one to control that and I'm happy with myself, thanks for your concern". When someone comes on and is just cruel in their reply, as in overly describing and using adjectives and nouns (being called a hairy fat pig really isn't the most uplifting of statements), that's when I consider them a troll because they're just trying to hurt my feelings and draw attention to themselves. When you're targeted by a troll, it can be difficult to deal with at first, especially if you've had your head inflated just a bit by nice compliments (I know mine was).

By the way, I commend you as well on your thread. Yay for bbws.

Believe me I understand and agree with you. My point I was trying to make was that if they're going to be that idiotic to bash someone based on their appearance, then they're really not worth worrying about. We're the ones showing more guts then they are by showing pics of ourselves...they're the ones that are insecure if they have to bash someone else

I really don't see the point of posting deliberately hurtful comments on a board like this. Have I seen members who don't appeal to my aesthetic? Sure. But what purpose does it serve to demean or insult?

There's a lid for every pot, and what I find attractive another will surely find off-putting or insipid. We can't all sleep with Britney Spears or J-Lo (though they seem to be making a valiant try at it).

What galls me most is that a lot of these women that are the targets of the poison-pen posters have had children, sometimes several of them. Maybe it's just me, but I think we guys need to give a pretty steep discount to the odd bit of skin not in it's perfect place in exchange for the beautiful work of child-bearing these graceful beings perform for us.

Demeaning a woman who has given the world an heir says far more about the vile creature doing the insulting than the woman.
