Intelligence is sexy... BRA*I*NIAC ROLL CALL! (Damn rented fingers)

I can't be the only one turned on more by brains than anything else... I find intelligent interaction (and especially heated debate) a MAJOR turn-on. Mental jousting... Mmmmmmm. There's always a certain sexiness to a brilliant woman... and every woman thus gifted I've ever been with goes on about how they 'dumb down' for men as they think it's intimidating. Plus, not that all brilliant women are nerds but DAMN nerd-sex is hot. ;)

I'm smart. i like a man who cna talk about literature. In high school, I was always the one who had the cliff notes and the extra texts. When we read "Canterbury Tales", i had the whole thing in the Middle English and was reading it. I can speak both Middle English and Old English. :D

Ok, I'm impressed. You can read old english? I get to the first ligature and go slackjaw. What am I not getting my head around?

Sooo....
Tell me why "Brainiac" is spelled wrong in your thread title....
Is it a clever ruse to entice the women well-endowed with intelligence into your clutches?
Hmm... I have you all figured out... Not so clever after all. :catroar: ;)

Ha. My spelling is horrible, yet anyone who talks to me would hardly call me a moron. Seriously though, who knows. Perhaps he's met his match. If anyone would care to talk, I wouldn't mind conversing.

I'll leave it to you to decide if I'm a "brainiac" or not.

Honestly, I wasn't trying to imply that spelling makes any difference when it comes to brilliant minds, because I do know some outstandingly intelligent people who couldn't spell if their life depended on it. :)
I just thought it was kinda funny. :D

164 IQ, used to be a marine biologist, I speak a little old school latin (not church latin) 5 yrs or german, 2 yrs french, spanish, and italian, and I can't spell worth a 3 legged okapi. smart women are a big turn on for me too :)

Oh it was very funny. Irony is a great love of mine. God I love spell checker though.

I am far from "schooled" though, so not sure if I could carry an intellectual conversation of the caliber this thread is proposing.

I guess I'll sign in. :)

I don't have IQ numbers for credentials, but I am a curious woman who enjoys conversations on a variety of topics. I read insatiably and rather indiscriminately, which means that I know a little about a lot of things.

Spelling isn't a measure of intelligence. It's more of measure of how good a person can picture the word in his or her own mind (visualize the word) to recall the spelling. It can also be a function of rote memory. I think that as fewer people are exposed to Latin and Greek word roots, they are losing some connections that help them associate meanings and spellings. I was an English major... :)

D'OH! That's not misspelling, that's mistyping!!! It's a clever ruse to disguise chronic ADD... or not. ;) :p

Couldn't you say, though, that spelling is an aspect intelligence? Rote or not, you're still using your brain to get the words out. After all, recollection plays a sizable role in comprehension and application skills.

However, there's a difference between misspelling and making typos.

I agree.

What do they want? Bad boy or "Head?"

Add me to the class list. IQ of 140 plus.

This is so odd, all my life I’ve been in the dilemma to develop relationships when it’s never clear if the lady that I’m interested in wants the “bad boy” (the jock, the street fighter, the biker) or the “head.” (the chemistry major, the IT profession or the guy who reads Rand, Shakespeare and Hemingway)

And it would be so cool to get off w/ some dry wit, self-depreciating humor, a bit of irony, as well as some quick and witty banter.

Consider the bard:

“What is three inches?” Much to do about nothing

“What is six inches?”

Wow. Just my luck! I join this place and find a threat right up my alley :D

There is nothing I find sexier than a woman who can carry on a vigorous, intelligent conversation. It has been my experience that the "nerdy" or smart women are the ones with the most passion and sensuality. A perfect combination!

As for myself, I have an IQ above 160 (not that it means much), I am fluent in Spanish and, while not exactly fluent, I have 6 years of Japanese under my belt. I earned an 800 on my verbal SATs, received an English degree from a prestigious northeastern university, and am going to law school in the fall.

I was always the geek in school, until I started to play sports in high school and kind of came into my own. I want to reiterate, there is nothing more stimulating or erotic than an intelligent, empassioned young woman.

I thought this was a serious thread. When I looked closer I realized you're not being serious. What exactly is a braniac?
