internet/computer history issue

damn computers...

I also suggest a portable version of Firefox that leaves no registry traces, sits in its own folder (easy to camoflauge), and you can have multiple versions of it on one machine; perhaps one for privacy and one for general use. There is also a useful extension called "Split Link" that allows you to see just where on the internet you will go once you click a link. Useful for sites that have a redirect script and normal address on one link. www.portableapps.com has a good, ad-free version. I never surf without it.

To get rid of those annoying url's that won't leave your address bar if auto-complete is on you can create another user account that is an admin account and go through your manual cleaning process of your "bugged" account, careful to fully delete the index.dat from history. When using IE its also helpful to set the cache max to 50MB to keep it from getting corrupted.

See dh is the one who knows all this stuff....I'm the user. But you guys are teaching me alot...wonder if dh will notice....I think he has my cache set at 64-I seem to remember seeing something like that while trying to figure it out yesterday....
Thanks again...

Its also best to not look up porn on a comp that may be used by others.

technically speaking...

dh nor anyone else NEVER uses my work laptop...except when I have issues then dh is the one who has to fix them....so occassionally he will have access. But he has his own and generally doesn't touch this one. I still delete stuff...but he knows from past *(before I learned about histories and such)experience some of my activities on line.

Thanks again to everyone who offered suggestions-it really helped.
