Into the Dragon's den ~ Closed ~

She wasn't expecting him to come up from behind her like he did, considering she couldn't sense the direction he came from. Though she sighed after hearing him out, noticing his stance and didn't seem too overly upset with her.

"To be fair, he is the one that left me here and never came back. I didn't go very far from where I left him."

Part of what he said did sting just a little, of course he didn't mean for it to sting and she knew that. There was a bit of shame filling her eyes and she lowered her gaze to look at the stone in hand, then towards the tombs gravestone.

"I have no intentions in running away. All this has been difficult for me to process that much is true. But I respect everything you have offered me too much. I wouldn't toss that away without good reason."

With another sigh, she just shook her head finding no point in explaining herself and her actions. She did understand the dangers that lingered out here and it was true that she could have told someone she was leaving. In reality, she didn't even know what she was truly looking for when she left, it wouldn't have been easy to explain.

"Yes, I am ready to go now. I apologize for causing worry, I truly didn't expect to be gone for so long."

"To be fair, he is the one that left me here and never came back. I didn't go very far from where I left him."

Marcus' lip twitched at that but he gave no other outward sign of his amusement, he relaxed his stance and stuck his hands inside the coat he'd been wearing looking around, memories replaying, with a sigh he smiled reaching out he cupped her cheek and raised her chin until she looked at him "be at east little one, everything will be alright" leaning down he kissed her forehead before pulling his warm hand away. "You're freezing, we need to get back"

"Yes, I am ready to go now. I apologize for causing worry, I truly didn't expect to be gone for so long."

Canting his head to one side the corner of his lip curled up in a smirk "Yes, time goes get away from us all, its amazing isnt it? how quickly we can loose........." Marcus trailed off, his brow furrowing for just an instant then suddenly he shoved her "GET DOWN" with a curse Marcus turned but too late as 3 arrows slammed into his back "Just, cant leave well enough alone, why do they keep coming back here" Marcus panted his eyes shifting from black to a deep red, his skin seemed to pulse before the arrows ignited into flame and disintegrated. straightening himself he turned with a flurry, 4 more arrows slamming into his chest shouting could be heard Marcus, we've got him, he's hit, Get the girl!" more shouting as Marcus staggered. an arrow taking him in the thigh he fell to his knee, his teeth bared a low growl starting the arrows bursting into flame and turned to dust. He looked to her "Take flight, go!!!"

Faelyn took the moment to enjoy the warmth of his hand while it lasted, realizing in that moment just how lonely her life truly is and these little signs of affection seem to dig into her core. For as much as she wanted to push these uncertain emotions to the side, keep them hidden behind locked doors, the simple touch such as this one made that impossible.

It ended all too suddenly however, the next thing she knew, she ended up face planting into the snow and watching as the arrows dove right into his back. There were shouts in the trees and she could see the glinting of more weapons flashing in the tree line, just when she was about to go to him, not wanting to leave his side, more arrows dug into his chest.

Faelyn felt sick to her stomach at the thought of leaving him here like this, it just wasn't right after everything he has done for her. The tree line, the shouting and the reflective weapons all told her there is no chance for her if she stayed here. More than anything she wanted to protest against leaving, however, she knew there isn't much of a choice. After hiding the pendant within the shadows like she has been taught to do, she shifted into raven form and the hesitation she had came with a cost.

Once she took flight an arrow shot right into her left wing, forcing her scream out a ravens cry that pierced the night air. Although, it didn't drop her like it should have, barely missing the nets that came flying at her. It is impossible to fly with an arrow lodged into ones wings, yet with magic, Faelyn managed to push herself till she at least made it back to the castle. Once over the wall, she fell from the sky from pure exhaustion and loss of blood, luckily Valarious stood in the path of where she fell.

On the way down, she couldn't hold the raven form any longer since using most of the energy just to keep flying, Faelyn landed in the snow naked, nearly unconscious and shivering as her whole system went into shock. In human form the arrow went straight through her left shoulder and the bleeding worsen during the transformation.

Markus growled from the pain, breathing hurt, at least one of his lungs had been nicked, the arrowed burned as they struck him but he still had to fight to heal, concentrate his magic, but it was becoming increasingly difficult as he was swarmed, several men began to punch and kick at him and he rolled to the ground, gasping from one particularly vicious kick to the ribs that doubled him over. He watched as Faelyn took flight, and prayed at least she got away, with such a large force having crossed his borders they had to know others would be alerted, hopefully a scout party came after them, or at least found Faelyn. Markus eyes shifted to red as he growled, the words of his transformation began to form, so that he could unlock his mortal essence and become the dragon once more. But only too quickly someone realized what he was doing and another vicious kick to the stomach silenced him. Words and shouts rang in his eyes but he senses were dulling, he was too hurt and his body was shutting down to heal, with a strangled cry and a surge of adrenaline he launched himself to his feet, Twisting, lashing out with a few well placed kicks and punches.

Again however there were just too many to fight them all off, then as he turned to attack anew a riflebutt caught him between the eyes and everything went black. There was a flurry of activity as Markus was bound and secured in a cage, gagged and blindfolded, his blood slowly trickling through the grates, hissing and scorching the ground as it landed.

One thing Faelyn hated most is that overwhelming helpless feeling. It burned down to the very core of her being as she felt the pain and rage pouring from Markus. He was out there and alone which only infuriated her all the more while she laid in the snow, struggling to get her own body to obey her mind. Faelyn wasn't thinking at all in those few moments and even if her limbs did obey, she would still be weak against so many invaders.

There wasn't much for her to think or act on her own rational plan of action and instead the rage took control. The arrow that pierced her shoulder burned in a blue-white flame as the wound healed instantly and slowly that flame consumed her entire body. It shifted first into her ravens' form and screamed out the ravens' cry as she took flight. However the higher into the air she got, the more the raven changed. The bird grew huge and took on a pure blue flaming form that resembled a phoenix and she wasted no time in flying towards where she left Markus.

However, she didn't just fly in with blind rage as any other person may have, instead she used the snow to her advantage and created a blizzard for distraction. Faelyn never truly got the feel of using fire and always felt it was easier to manipulate water and air. The flaming appearance came mostly from having the dragons blood within her and topping it off with the rage that increased by the second. In this form the weapons didn't phase her as the nets burned the moment they touched her, bullets went through the flames as if there wasn't any physical form.

Soon enough the hunter began to freeze and turned into blocks of ice that surrounded Markus. Faelyn didn't have the state of thought to care if people from the castle were coming out to help Markus or not. The rage fed her actions and when she saw Markus in the cage she used the trees to attempt breaking open his cage while blue flame burned the ties that held his wrists. This form took on more than she can handle and it's very uncontrolled as she kept attacking the hunters while attempting to free Markus. She didn't know how many hunters she froze or if Markus was awake enough to get out of the cage. All she did know is that the hunters kept coming out of no where and had to keep to fighting until she knew he was safe.
