Lost in the noise of "Is the Strait of Hormuz open today or not?" hoopla is the fact that Iran continues missile attacks on Israeli infrastructure targets every single day and night.
Casualties in Israel are very light, because Iran targets strategic chokepoints, destroying bridges, airports, train stations, major roadways. warehouses, armed forces barracks and training centers.
(Compare and contrast that to IDF policy of "maximum terrorism" in Lebanon, targeting high densities of population).
Citizens of Israel are being forced to live in reinforced bunkers underground for weeks at a time. Well, Jewish citizens anyway.....Israeli citizens of Arabic descent are prohibited (sometimes by law, sometime by de facto bullying) from sheltering in bunkers with Jews. Many people consider this apartheid.
There are masses of educated Israeli citizens who want to leave Israel and are prohibited by military law from leaving. This might be Iran's long term plan.....if Iran convinces 20% of the Jewish population to leave the smoking remains of Israel, that will leave the Arabic Israeli citizens in Israel as the majority. This will effect the balance of power tremendously in the region.
The IDF cannot defend Israel any longer. Israel is completely vulnerable to missile attacks now, yet somehow still thinks it can survive by ordering 8 billion dollars worth of fighter jets. Anti-missile technology brought in is 1990s vintage and essentially useless against modern missile attacks....but they make for "good optics" to show Israelis that they are somehow "fighting back" to their citizens.
The best "tell" is the real-time satellite imaging over the Persian gulf. There are four satellite companies that provide this service: a private American company, a Russian company, a Chinese company, and two satellites that Iran purchased from China. The American company sweeps the entire Persian gulf every 15 minutes. The American government asked the American company to "downgrade" resolution of the American bases in the Persian Gulf to a very fuzzy 200px resolution, supposedly to not show the enemy the extent of damage done by their missiles (and to keep Pete Hegeth's fictional "success narratives" from ridicule), and Israel asked that its entire country AND the country of Lebanon be downgraded as well. Israel does not want the world to see how much missile damage it has suffered, and also wants to keep the English speaking world ignorant of the daily atrocities they commit in Lebanon.
Iran can see the damage they have caused, Russia can see it too. China not only can see the damage in the Persian gulf but occasitionally sells images to Europe when it fits their agenda. The Guardian newspaper in Britain pays large sums of money to China (or cutouts) for satellite damage imagery. So virtually everyone knows what is going on except the general US public and the general Israeli public.
Genocide has consequences after all. Who knew?
