Is it just me

I don't believe you'll ever trust a politician of any stripe, DP. And I believe you over-estimate America's liking for the underdog.

With the election and the Financial melt down everybody is edgy and a lot of people are unable to allow others to disagree with them. We have been conditioned to react to differing opinions with rejection and objections rather than consideration for one another.

As was said, Rush and Hannity are effecting us. One must realize that people differ if not in fundemental ways at least in the viewpoint they have to different questions and at diffrent times.

One should alway remember that in a community it is what we have in common that makes us gather together and what we differ on just give us food for thought.

That said, I'd rather fuck than fight.

When was the last time any of that Thundering Herd of Dumbass did something to create trust?

I think all the ones in DC on their 2nd term or more are bought and paid for :(

You do know it's easy to tell when a politicians telling a lie, his/her lips are moving. :D

I know I can do nothing to change your mind. So I won't try.

Rob, I had an Uncle in a state legislature for 18 years, too much experience. Sadly he was more honest than most, it's why he lost in 80.

My dictionary:
cynic - noun - experienced

...

And America doesn't have a lot of liking for losers.

Like we'uns say 'round these here parts, no one remembers who came in second.

In another life I was the legislative chair for a state group trying to get a guild issue pushed through. It was mightily disillusioning. The issues got lip service and the real agenda of the legislators was behind the scenes. The old saying about laws and sausages being made is true.

As someone who both comes and goes every few months and tend to lean into the debate boldly, my opinion is kinda "meh".

There are some new faces, yelling old stuff. Some braggarts I didn't see last time kinda humped up on their own life stories. Then again, some of the same middle-of-the-road people. Some mainstays.

Doesn't seem so different from year to year.

Except I had to put that James guy on ignore because I can't find anything constructive about what he's saying and I haven't put anyone on ignore for years (its not even personal, I just don't like the caps all the time and constant personal rhetoric).

I miss some folks... but they're probably coming back or just left, so we'll run into them again I'm sure.

It is kinda funny that I'm likely to rub some new people the wrong way, at least until they stop trying to guess what I'm meaning and listen to what I'm saying.

You can rub me up anyway you like, dear. ;)

I don't know, I've not been around much of late and when I am here I tend to stick to a few threads. So I'm not sure if things have changed much, least not that recently. I've felt a change in the AH over a longer period of time, but that is just natural as people come and people go.

The AH will continually change, that is one of it's beauties and also one of it's horrors.

We're passionate folk, here, we are and sometimes we just need to stop and breathe before posting and that goes for me, too, I can tell you. It's very easy to post in the heat of the moment, to forget the other person in the argument/debate IS another person and just let fly.

I'm all for taking a step back and thinking now and then or even using the ignore button if it's needed.

Not a bad idea, for cooler heads to prevail and all.
