Is it possible to send pictures through PMs?

Is it possible on an iPad to send pictures through private messages? I can add an image to a post on a thread but can’t figure out how to do this in private messages? I guess you could link it to somewhere else you post but I am trying to figure out how to send it directly in the message.

Dropbox is banned.
Most links will be banned if it has adult content. I tried Imgur.com bit it wouldn’t work.
Lit needs to jump into 2026.
Aldo - they need to add notifications when someone DM you.
Tumblr is do much easier but not everyone has tumblr.
