Is Jimmy Carter alive?

Lol the thought of Trump getting his hands dirty is laughable. Hed go screaming for the hand sanitizer so fast our heads would spin. All while castigating that evil very bad dirt.
It's well-documented that Trump is a germaphobe who would make me look at him funny. That's saying something. I will actually take the trash out if it needs taking. I will actually shake someone's hand. He might do the latter, but he immediately wants to wash his hands afterward (I can't totally blame him, but it's not always practical). There was an interesting article about Trump once, I haven't seen it since, and how he represents the politics of disgust. If you've noticed, he often implies that people of some...ethnicities and backgrounds are physically dirty or something like that.

For a guy who's been in hospice care since last year, and has battled both brain and liver cancer, he's doing great and says he's determined to vote for Harris this election.

Unlike every previous Republican President and Vice President, none of whom have said that they'll support Trump.

Regardless of my own issues with these former Presidents and Vice-Presidents of both parties, it is significant that every single person who has ever held those offices in my lifetime, who is still alive (and former President George H.W. Bush, when still alive, if I recall correctly), to my knowledge, has refused to support Trump and Vance. These people, whatever their blunders, crimes (including war crimes, I might add), etc. essentially don't think that Trump or Vance have the right stuff for the job....except for Trump himself, course. That's very telling. Not even his own former Veep, Mike Pence, seems to back him nowadays. That's very damning. There has to be a reason beyond their establishment leanings and prejudices.

As for nominees? Literally just Sarah Palin, a woman whose selection was a dealbreaker for me in 2008 and played a whole role in my refusal to vote for John McCain in the general election.

He cast his vote by mail today.
I hope he lives long enough to see Kamala Harris' inauguration.
Hell, since Chief Justice John Roberts is irredeemably compromised, perhaps we could persuade President Carter to administer the oath of office to President-elect Harris!

wouldn't that be something?

question: if ex-POTUS Carter dies before November 5th (he won't!), will his vote still be counted since it was cast in the early voting?

that would be such a bummer if it didn't :( his family would be hurt even more.

Some time before E-Day, Biden should go to Plains and award Carter a Medal of Freedom, stating it is in recognition of (1) the Camp David accords and (2) his post-presidential humanitarian career. It would carry weight -- make the Democrats look like the party of kindness and decency.

Yes, it counts. It happens quite often actually, people vote early and shuffle off the mortal coil. The courts have consistently held that if you were alive when you voted, it counts.

I suspect the current makeup of the US Supreme Court is willing to "review" this long standing law, seeing if they can find a loophole to restrict that vote to only white folks.

That clip is bullshit -- Carter voted by mail.

That's not Jimmy Carter. But the meme is bullshit.

I will say that it is borderline psycho for even thinking this is a thing of importance. A man in the audience - who obviously wanted to be there, otherwise he would not be - is severely physically disabled. I think it's great that he has so much enthusiasm for her. If he can, he will vote for her and likely will inspire others to do so.

How weird is it to try use this man's position to try to make some kind of concept of a point.
