Can an educated democrat help me out?

Most of Obama's social policies and attitudes seem similar to Clinton's 18-10 years ago. Can anyone familiar with politics point out areas where Obama is stronger or more progressive?

There is NOTHING "progressive" about liberalism. If you don't like the word "liberal" because of the understandable natural stigma, then perhaps "degenerate" would be a good synonym.

Yes, Obama is FAR more liberal on social issues. Unlike Clinton he makes ZERO pretense of being socially conservative on ANY major issue. Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act, Obama calls for its repeal. Clinton signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Obama praised atheists in his innaugural address. Clinton pushed the Internet Decency Act and school uniforms for kids. Obama does NOTHING of the sort. Obama has a ZERO percent social conservative record. Clinton was at least somewhat centrist on some socio-cultural issues, even if was mostly for show.
