Before Saskia knew what was happening, Corbeau had manoeuvred her into his lap, kissing her soundly. He certainly knew how to sweep a woman off her feet, his comment about her dress bringing a warm flush to her cheeks. She had almost forgotten about it.
“Thank you Corbeau,” she said softly, the mischief glinting in his dark eyes bringing a smile to her lips.
“Breakfast is always important,” she said, taking a sliver of bacon and holding it for Corbeau to eat from her fingers. His lips claimed hers again, and Saskia found herself floating on a cloud called Corbeau. Without fail, he managed to let the world fade into the background … often.
The rest of the morning Saskia spent, watching the master at work. His skilful hands knew exactly what to do; where to nip and where to touch. He smoothed his hands across the statue and Saskia could almost feel them moving across her own skin from where she sat … lost in translation between watching his superb artistry and the memory of what those hands did to her the night before.
