Yep.....that's Riding on the Metro....
lord, I don't remember the band's name. I wanna say Berlin, but I don't think that's right......

"I stumble into town just like a sacred cow, visions of swastikas in my head, plans for everyone."
Ding-ding=ding! Riding on the Metro's band was Berlin, also done by System Of A Down.

The lyrics are David Bowie--China Girl. (Heard that song in Adam Sandler's The Wedding Singer.)

New lyrics...

Won't you take me back to school
I need to learn the golden rule
Won't you lay it on the line
I need to hear it just one more time

That would be David Bowie...China Girl perhaps?

I'll be back with lyrics in a sec.

new lyrics

Yes I think I'm okay
I walked into the door again
Well, if you ask that's what I'll say
And it's not your business anyway
I guess I'd like to be alone
With nothing broken, nothing thrown
Just don't ask me how I am

ok Red yours is Luka by Suzanne Vega or The Lemonheads depending on which you prefer. I believe the one before that is the Voice by The Moody Blues.

I Like taking Tuinal
It keeps me edgy and mean
I'm a Teenage Schizoid
I'm a Teenage Dope Fiend

oh and just for the record, the 80's version of CHina Girl is by Bowie, but the first version was recorded by Iggy Pop back when Bowie was trying to keep a low profile by being Iggy's keuboard player and personally I still like Iggy's version better.

New Lyrics ~

I've got your picture
Of me and you
You wrote "I love you"
I love you too
I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do

The Vapors -Turning Japanese

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights

New Lyrics

And being alone is the best way to be
When I'm by myself it's the best way to be
When I'm all alone it's the best way to be
When I'm by myself nobody else can say goodbye

Song: Circle
Artist: Edie Brickell And The New Bohemians

And being alone is the best way to be
When I'm by myself it's the best way to be
When I'm all alone it's the best way to be
When I'm by myself nobody else can say goodbye

and now for the really obscure...

Drinking with reckless abandon
No need in going home
been pulling 'em hard since 8 o'clock
I don't wanna go home alone
...

Guess this one was really obscure or everybody lost interest!

Barroom Romance

Robbin Thompson Band.

Here is a relatively easy one for Monday...(didn't see the other lyrics or would have tried--AA)

New Lyrics

Take the children and yourself,
And hide out in the cellar,
By now the fighting will be close at hand.
Don't believe the church and state,
And everything they tell you.
Believe in me, I'm with the high command.

Men at Work

Overkill.

Very good. Took a long time to come up with that!

Here's a one hit wonder from the 80's...video was kinda cool though.

I'm just an average guy with an average life,
I work from nine to five, hey hell I pay the price,
But I want is to be left alone in my average home,
But why do I always feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone.

Golden Earring does have a song called Twilight Zone, but that isn't it. Here are some more lyrics for it...can't do all of the chorus because it has the song title.

When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair
I might open my eyes and find someone standing there
People say I'm crazy, just a little touched
But maybe showers remind me of Psycho too much
That's why...

Yay me!! I finally got one.

Here's another:

I could see it was a rough-cut Tuesday
Slow-motion weekdays stare me down
Her lipstick reflex got me wound
There were no defects to be found
Snapshot image froze without a sound
