It's not BDSM, but it's important to BDSMers, too

I'll call my mum and have her put more water in the soup. Floor space is available on a first come first serve basis, but she'll deal for good chocolate.

Can one of the Canadians send her a box of aero bars from me please? ... I could go to the local Hoffman's but I don't know how well it will hold up in the local 90+ heat....

Vixandra - it's the thought that the city is not doing it for something like a hospital... they are also allowed to do it now to help COMMERCIAL businesses get property that owners don't want to sell to them for any price - or want to sell for a higher price than the commercial venture wants to pay. Easier to bribe an elected official to get the land and let the city take a little profit on the deal.

And yet another of our Democratic Big Brothers trying to legislate what he thinks is good for us. (I know, many here are not smokers - but what's next on his agenda? Will he want to outlaw your floggers or dildos or perhaps your right to choose your partner or what sex acts you may perform?) Bill to stop drivers from lighting up behind the wheel. <Sigh>

Land of the Free... to do what our oh-so-wise legislators and courts deem is in our best interests?

I know that this forum is not intended for political discussion - but I also know that a large percentage of the forum's regulars seldom go to forums where this type of article shows up. It worries me greatly that our legislators and courts seem to be tightening up more and more on our lives, and taking more and more of our rights away, so the things I drop in here are just reminders that there is a world out there, and people in it who want to control our actions from waking to sleep - and who knows? maybe our dreams, too.

If ya don't want to read about this sort of stuff, just skip on over the topic - it won't hurt my feelings.

a step closer

To a single world government.
The UN.
Single world tax system,no property rights,no right to bear arms.
The people behijnd it are called the Bilderbergers.Check any link you can find.Plenty of information.
Also: The Carlyle group, the Council on Foreign relations, and the Illuminati.
That is only the beginning.
I do not recall ever voting for the UN.

And it doesn't hurt my feelings the slightest that you post this stuff. Hell, I even read it and fully appreciate your concerns.
But allow me to point out the fact, that although there seem to be a vast majority of US citizens on Lit, not all of us are. In the short period of time that I have been attending Lit I have come to cherish it as a source of inspiration and a forum of discussion about sex and relationship-related topics.
Bearing the 'global' nature of Lit in mind, there may be other sites more suited to discuss the non-sexual legislative issues of a specific country.
Imagine the mayhem if the Australians, the British, the Canadians, the Danes, the Dutch, the Germans, the Swedish etc. all started to post off-topic stuff from their local political or cultural hinterland?
No, this is not a rant, and I am totally calm
I just want you fellow Lit'ers to give it a thought in a spare moment...
