It's Rollback Tuesday

LOLOLOLOLOL

My last set of wheels was a Dodge Caravan. I picked it up at 15K miles. It was great. It hauled everything I needed to haul when I yanked out the back seats. (They ended up on the side of the road.)

That van hauled me all over New England. My wife and I slept in the back of that van in several states.

That van hauled us to Florida on our vacation when we decided to move south. (We blew the Head Gasket on that trip but nursed it home and repaired it.) It then moved us south a year later, towing a trailer that weighed as much as the van did.

We lived out of that van for three months until we finally got us a place. It moved us from place to place as well as transported us around the state.

In the end it was starting to die. It was dead as much as it ran. We finally traded it in when we picked up our new car.

We got $1500.00 for the van even though it had 250K miles. (I paid $1500.00 for the van when I bought it.) That van didn't owe us a damned thing.

Our new car? It's a 2003 Chevy Tracker. My wife and I have already spent several overnights in the back of it.

I feel your pain. My car has been sitting in the driveway with a smashed-up hood, fender, bumper and bent radiator since the end of May. We haven't been able to find parts for it at the junkyards since they only made that body style for two years. It was way too young to die... it only has 80k miles on it... I miss it so. :(

It truly does bite. I hate not being able to drive. Even if we found parts now, we couldn't afford them... not until student aid disbursement. *sigh* It's been one of those summers.

I suppose I'm just lucky I can take the bus to school when classes start.
