Now that the job market is so much better a lot of slums could start drying up. That is if the slum dwellers want to work for a living. I love my slumlord. This was supposed to be only a five month lease in between batches of migrant workers. He's apparently decided that I'm a better tenant because I'm still here two years later. I've got thousands of dollars in savings to show for it.

I thought about seeing whether he wants to sell the property but I think it would be pretty awkward if, down the road, I had to evict his kids from the other two units.

Slumlords might not be the best at maintenance, I've done my share of plumbing the last two places I've lived in but they're not the ones that run down these properties. It's the tenants.
