Brught and early Friday morning, the cusp of the holiday weekend for us in the states. "Memorial Day" to be honest I'm not sure anyone else celebrates it. It'supposed to be a day of rememberence for all the solidiers who have fallen in battle, but sadly most Americans just drink beer and grill hot dogs. They have no idea what it's about nor care that so many brave men and women gave their lives for what we take for granted, our freedom...

Sorry, but to be clear I know its an American holiday. My issue is with my fellow countrymen.

That read like I was expecting the rest of the world to remember our fallen, that is not what I meant.

We have a similar day also, April 25 - ANZAC day. We are different though as attendance numbers at our Dawn Services increase each year. We appear to get 'what this day is all about'. Our 'memorial day' commemorates an event in WW1 on the beaches of Galipoil. Many soldiers (not just kiwi's) died in horrific numbers defending someone else's freedom that day. Regardless of ones stance on war we should never forget those that laid down their life doing so.

Never come off this particular soap box Jase. It's way too important, today probably more than ever. Enjoy your special day - lest we forget.

I was trying to find your images, from what I see the three of you share a thread I may be dumb but I can't find "your" thread. great images though all three of you are delicious.
