FWIW, I don't agree with Jen's politics and she does accuse people of disagreeing with her of being on drugs and on welfare, which is not too weird for the gb. However, I've read some of her writing because I was curious and she's actually a decent writer.

The problem I see with the Rory/Jen war is that men from both political sides feel justified in calling her "cunt" and other names because they go berzerk over her political comments. And Rory and others again feel justified in attacking her Lit stories because she's a woman. I haven't seen any men attack any men on Lit that annoys them with this same zeal. The story I looked at was provided by doggie earlier in his link. I only read the first page and it was a decent story. I've read quite a few Lit stories and have seen really bad ones and really good ones. To judge Jen's writing as bad based on this story is biased.

Yes, when you write on the fly you do miss a lot of stuff. Even when it's not on the fly you miss things, your brain naturally knows what you meant and fixes a lot of your fuck ups. It gets even worse if you work with the same basic cast for a while and sometimes you forget that your audiance (to use myself Karen, but for something more general I'll say James Bond) might not have read/watched the thirty previous incarnations and you need to at least partially explain why they can do what they do. Pilot's my "pal" from the AH. He insults everyone over there and says he's better than everyone, then says he never said it, so I have that in there for the newbie writers.
