I took a race school in order to feel safe driving my car (a 67 IRA Cobra 427 replica with a cobrajet 428). The instructor told me that racing in nascar is like driving on ice at 190 mph, the grip is that tentative.

I know it felt that way to me on the track in my car, the damn thing wants to snap out wickedly if you are a little too aggressive with the gas in a corner. But then I'm not a race car driver either.

is fantastic, it's my favorite track to watch a race from... a strong party crowd but not too rowdy and out of control. I went to Talledega once and man what a crazy house.

It's farther north, near Montery, CA. Besides some Grand Stand seating, there are a lot of hillside 'seats' overlooking the whole track. Make sure you can see the corkscrew!

I test drove several bikes on it. I hated one, and loved the Ninja 1000. It was like my TR-3, mind control and totally submissive. A 750 turbo was interesting too - but weak below turbo insertion. It went from the power of a 400 w/o, to a 900 at max turbo.

Hi Jenn, I'll TRY to stay at just 3 comments here. You make me, ummm IT, so hard ...

1- When I write stories, I combine these approaches. After a seminal image, I try to feel the main characters and STREAM what they say and feel. Then I often try to stream the other characters. After I flesh out the details, I step outside their roles and, finally as the author, word smith the story without changing it. More details are in my MUSE story.

2- What picture? It's already gone.

3- Imagine what a thrill you could give Gordie by sending him the story of your encounter. Just take what you posted here and tell him how much it meant to you. I know, in his shoes, I'd be floored and treasure it for life. So MUCH impact for so little!

I think it's more difficult to post here, because there's no safety net. When I write a story and post it to the site, I can spend months working and reworking it, but here it's more of a stream of concience sort of thing.
