I was in our local museum yesterday, looking at a display of the development of Radar and microwave communications.
UK is still a constitutional monarchy.
Are you really sure that you have to have all that elaborate political structure to produce technological advances?
Does nothing new ever come from Germany or France or Japan then?
Four completely different political structures- but four countries with a good education system.
Do you need to be reminded that at the height of the "Evil Empire" the USA were terrified of the Soviets' ability to produce technical innovations?

I think America's system is the best, for now.

Considering your previous posts which seem to laud the merits of collectivism, I'm surprised that you would make this statement. If it is the best, necessarily implying an admission that it is superior to collectivism, why do you advocate what you declare to be an inferior system?

And I find it interesting that you proclaim it the best even though it has been degraded by 100 years or so of ever more intrusive collectivist based legislation and regulations which have stolen trillions of dollars from those who earned them for politicians to squander n their whims.

If you refer to the United States, it's not a democracy; it's a democratic republic.

It is not a political structure, per se, that creates anything. In a political structure which nurtures freedom, the economic incentive is the stimulus for many people to experiment and create. Most of the great discoveries and innovations of our recorded history are serendipitous.

But it is the atmosphere of freedom (both economic and political) that encourages, nurtures and rewards these creative pursuits.

Less terrified of their ability to create them than of their ability to steal them via espionage much as China is presently doing in pursuit of encryption technology and missile guidance technology and nuclear warhead design information which was provided to them by the Clinton administration in exchange for campaign contributions (acts of treason).
