We have to end the specific dividing cultural "valuations" in the creation and implementation of policy. Fair is the first concept the has to go unless it is used strictly objectively, fair ball, fair (CLR 7) weather, FairTax.org, where the former require sight and precise measurement and the latter refers to “blind” as in, blind (fair) justice.
The citizen, in modular programming concepts (or Socratic) is a black box (ideal) so that fair is what you do to the all because at the granular level it is what you do to the individual. When justice if done for the subset of the population, injustice may be visited upon the majority or even a minority. Fairness protects the minority from the whims of the majority.
That is my charge to government, I am just a citizen, not a unique citizen before a jury (of my peers or the peerage), but one of many before blind justice so that is how you treat me fairly, as any other one.

Our government is of the people, by the people and for the people and when the government gets involved in my business, that is “the people” being involved in what they have no business being involved in. That’s MY business. Not theirs. Not yours. That’s what the IRS is, my neighbor’s nose in my business. With a fucking shotgun. Government is not a business, is not run like one and certainly has no business running one. It’s none of their business.
Government’s task is law and infrastructure. Blind law. Blind Justice. Black Box. Citizen.
A just law is just for all, not a law just for the elected/targeted.
Otherwise, government bribes the voter.
That is just criminal.

When do we step in and break up a company in the name of fair competition? How do we prove that in breaking up the successful that no progress or good would have come out of it had we not intervened? Oftentimes, this retards a breakout technology because she progress requires massive investments as the rewards are squeezed out of the system in declining proportion. If a non-conglomerate company begins usurious pricing due to lack of competition having cornered the market by providing quality products or superior service then prices, like scarcity, will drive the demand for substitute goods (and services) and create opportunities and potential growth for upstarts. It is the same for the individual when making economic choices (the layman’s bang-for-buck). This is just The Common Sense of Political Economy, Wicksteed.
Ask yourself, have I become consumed with envy for what others have?
Who am I to judge? Am I in the jury? The executioner?
Or, am I just a citizen like everyone else?
