At the request of some people who hoped you would stop this nonsense, I agreed long ago not to post any further on your insinuations. If you look at the thread's name, you will note that it is my response to returning briefly to Lit and finding that you had been up to your old foul tricks.

Cheyenne's first attack on me had to do with whether my statement that I had "worked Wall Street" was or wasn't true. The fact is that I was a journalist there for years, was quite widely published, etc. No, I didn't write about pension plans - about the dullest crap in the finiancial universe. I wrote about equities, and some of my work was considered distinguished. Meanwhile, I was opposing Reagan's war in Nicaragua. Cheyenne will have trouble with that dialectic. I also have extensively studied economics in a very respected institution that didn't think pension plans were a priority.

Her second major attack on me was to claim that I had not really visted Magdeburg in East Germany. Her compulsive need to try to prove that cyber strangers are not who they say they are (and I'll never understand why this strange mission excites her so) forced her to attack a one-sentence mention I made of a stupid side trip during the Cold War. If you all read the relevant bits on the following thread, you will find that she has never acknowledged that construction of the buildings in question were said by her friend to have begun either not long before or sometime after my visit. I asked her to look at this little issue, but she's never deigned to do so. Look it up yourselves:

I see no reason to be polite to someone who's done nothing but hector me. She only posted the birthday thread because her little mind correctly figured that I wasn't much into promoting my age. The interesting contradiction is that she deduced my age from the very post that she still insists is a pack of lies.

Does that explain my contempt for her? I've always detested the kind of people who behave in such a highanded, prosecutorial manner. Thanks to all of the others who have posted. I do believe that this has to do with my ideas, my opinions. As I've purged my posts of their personal detail, I've left the ideas, as they are what truly upset these two. I am in no way accusing any other conservatives here of that sort of harassment. Above, I noted that I got into a little spat with WD once after insulting him, for which I have apologized. I've had some pretty fierce debates on these boards, and I'm happy to think that my sparring partners felt that our ideas were expressed with passion, but without personal slight. Sexy Chele and I have debated the Palestinian issue a couple of times, heatedly, and I don't believe either of us ever insulted the other; she's cool in my book.

I still wish this would go away. Having removed all traces of my sense of humor from most of my old posts, I'm not sure I have much left, so I can't predict my future here. But I think I'll stick around and contend with the dark forces a bit longer.

As for Wall Street, you never claimed to be just a journalist until the thread on East Germany. Your posts about Wall Street talked about how you worked on the Street, advised people, caused them to buy and sell and make a lot of money, etc. The whole time I was pointing out there was no way you had the proper financial background to possibly work on the Street, unless you counted something like a janitor job, you never claimed you were a journalist. Kind of like a journalist writing about the space exploration program, it doesn't make you an astronaut, except in your dreams. Same for writing about Wall Street.
