Tongue Ring

Well, after 2 1/2 hours at the ER, and my $100 insurance co-pay, the tongue ring has been officially retired. We had a few good years together, and hopefully gave much pleasure with our combined efforts, but it was time to say good-bye.

Parting truly IS such sweet sorrow!

No pain at all! They numbed me up, and not only could I not feel anything, it made speaking a little difficult. And tongues heal so quickly anyway.... the only problem is that it feels so different to use my tongue now! I have so much more oral flexibility that I'm not used to anymore.... will have to practice!

Me too! I will admit that I was extremely scared.... I researched on the Internet some, and the stories of people that had to get surgery really frightened me. Luckily, I caught it early enough that it wasn't too serious. I had put a plastic plug in and took out my metal stud, for job interviews, and my tongue was starting to grow over the plastic. Lesson learned... do NOT underestimate the healing and adaptive powers of the human body. ANYTHING can be assimilated....
