Ok, this was funny. My daughter Sam sent this to me. She just hates those chain email things, but I thought her replies were a bit humorous.

and how is Sam's counselling going??
:D

You make a mighty fine "biker chick"... though you somehow seem a little classier than the ones I've normally seen.

I guess that's why I really love artists, be they writers or painters or sculptors or what have you. A bright and vivid, creative mind is VERY attractive to me.

Holy cow, I think I'm getting hot here........ lol

OK cutie. I'm gonna PM you some info on the art we make. Sounds like you may be somewhat interested (I hope). I just don't really want it out on this public forum.

...my daughters had a funny conversation a few minutes ago.

A while ago, I was outside walking around the house looking up at the roof. There's a pipe that comes out that doesn't seem to actually go to anything inside. Well, lately I've been wondering about that, thinking maybe we should put a cover over it, something I saw last weekend at The Home Depot. Otherwise, it's just open to the elements there and water and snow can easily go down it.

So, anyway, I come inside and the girls are sitting at the kitchen table. They asked what I was doing and I explained it to them. Well, we all sorta scratched our heads about that one, and then my husband comes in from the back bedroom. We ask him about it and he took a look outside for himself. Same as me, he had no idea, but thought it couldn't hurt to put one of those covers over it.

Sam and Sandy (ages 19 and 18 respectively) are sitting at the table having breakfast, and Sam asks if we don't know what the pipe goes to, should we really be covering it up?

"What if it's connected to the sewer line or something?" she asked starkly. "All those ass fumes will back up and kill us in the night."

Stephen didn't think it had anything to do with the sewer, or furnace for that matter, seeing as how it didn't seem to go down into that part of the house.

"Maybe it leads to a magical world?" said our youngest Becca.

"Or it's a vortex to Hell," replied Sandy.

Then Sam held her hand to the side of her face, as if holding a phone, and said, "Yeah, Home Depot? I got a pipe in my roof and I think it's a vortex leading into a dark abyss reigned over by the Prince of Darkness. You guys got anything to cover it up?"

She chuckled, and then Sandy, right on que, holds her hand to her ear, replying, "You say you got a vortex to Hell in your roof?"

Sam: "Yeah, it's a Hell hole."

Sandy: (laughing) "You live in a Hell hole?"

Sam: "No, you idiot. I got a Hell hole in my roof. Can I cover it up?"

Sandy: "We sell a lovely selection of Hell hole covers, coming in a wide variety of colors, as well as having a grand assortment of do-it-yourself Hell hole cover guides, but we recommend you talk to your plumber or priest, before screwing around with gateways leading into the realm of Lucifier."

Sam: "Oh, cool. Thank you, Mother Theresa."

Sandy: "Go in peace, my child."

Sam: "Screw you. *click*"

Sandy: "Go to Hell. *click*"

....lol

...and if you cover it up, your toilet might become a geyser when you flush it. Probably not quite the resolution you'd like...

Hey...

Oh no!

Well, you know something, these covers I found at The Home Depot have these little flaps at the top to allow the air to flow out of the pipe, but rain and so forth can't get in.

I'd like to get up on the roof to measure the width of that thing, before I go buy one of those covers, though. Maybe I can talk my husband to climb up there in the morning with a tape measure.

Thanks for the head's up!!!

I just can't imagine that pipe serves no purpose!

I sent you a pm regarding the disposition of that mysterious pipe...

You're a bad, bad man.... :p

Well, with all the computers in our house, I have a guy from town come out to check them once a month. He does a pretty good job, too. Very thorough. And he's just such a whizkid, too! Man, I bet he's not more than 20 or 21.

He's a pretty neat guy. AND is very good about explaining all the subtle and complicated nuances of computers to me. What I really like, though, is his honesty. If he doesn't think I need something, he tells me or tells me where I can get it better or cheaper or both.

I don't know why he bothers staying in such a tiny town as ours. A fella like that could probably do pretty well for himself elsewhere in a larger community. But, hey, I'm glad he's here all the same.

Jess,

Aren't you afraid that your computer whiz might find some of your pics while cleaning out/up your computer? If he found something, what would you tell him??? :D

tempus fugit indeed!

That long? That would explain the general absence of getting anything done away from the computer yesterday. :) (Of course, isn't that what Saturdays are for?)

I guess I blew any hope at hanging on to a reputation of being taciturn...heh.

An excellent conversationalist can draw out even the least talkative of people, it seems.

:)
