haha! I know, but I really am my own worst critic. I guess b/c when I look at something like this--which, granted, I didn't put much time or effort into--I see areas where the values are off, where I should have paid more attention to finer details and provided more/less contrast in areas, and worked on controlling the quality of line a bit more closely. I know where I rushed areas and where I didn't, so I will always view it differently than anyone else who observes it, because for me most things I draw/paint are never truly complete.
So I decided to shut up and say thank you instead!

It does look better with the smile, Sweet. But it's still a wonderful self portrait.

I've been tempted to buy Christopher Moore's books--in fact I was checking some of them out over the summer, just b/c I enjoyed the jacket designs so much that I had to see what they were about, so those are on my list of things to read!
