The next series is a slide show of a forest fire that was started by a lightening strike on June 24, 2007 and smoldered til July 4th, when it sparked a flame. It has been burning since.

It has been awhile since I posted pics of my travels and misc. others taken from my windows.

I have several to share.

This set are of the James River up in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

BTW: Do you know How the Blue Ridge Mountains got their name?

I also hope to pics of your travels, weather, clouds, nature, etc.

having lived at the base of the Unicoi Range in the south and South Mountain in the north I've spent a little time traveling The Blue Ridge.......not as much as you, living smack dab in the middle.......


looking west as the morning mist rises off the mountains the blue hue has caught the breath of many a traveler...
