I just cash my royalty checks from distributors across the board from a huge collection in both e-books and paperbacks and am satisfied in my own skin. But let's clear this up first: The only guys I "snuffle up" to are (1) a whole lot less straight than LC, and (2) a whole lot hotter than you have ever been.

Now...since you want to act as if you are the gay second coming of James Patterson with a gazillion titles in the market, how about we compare what success is, shall we?

You have a bunch of stuff spread all over a bunch of sales platforms yet have only ever talked about "your book sales pay for a couple cruises a year." Well, la-de-da. Cruises are as cheap as $295 for seven days, so that little piece of self-masturbation isn't the least bit impressive. (And don't go down the "balcony cabin or suite" path since upgrades are comp'ed half the time and pretty cheap when you do have to pay. Just like the Dodo bird...that aint gonna fly.)

What I would like to hear from you is how many times one of your "in-demand bestsellers" have been number one on Amazon Canada or number six on Amazon worldwide? Huh big boy? Mister Master Author? Mister Prolific? How many of those can you point at and back up with proof?

The one in my sig line did that though. So you can shove your snide remarks about it and the tag line that was chosen for the cover. We backed it up the first 45 days it was in the market.

Yes, yes, we know that you, as a member of the secret circle, are one of the "best writers" of erotica, Dwayne--you guys said so yourselves in your self-written blurb in your self-published anthology. As with all multiauthor anthologies, just buying copies yourselves will send you to best-seller status for a day or two here and there. But I don't mind if you're all pumped up about yourself over one book you had a small part in. That has nothing to do with me, and I don't begrudge you your self-congratulations.

Yes, I've hit top-lists for short periods from time to time at distributors, including Amazon, and my listings at Allromanceebooks are dominated by best-seller stars, but in the world of erotica e-booking, I've never felt the need to make a big deal over it. It's OK with me if you revel in being impressed with yourself.

In terms of petty backbiting, you certainly are a champion.

Of course it might be just a tad depleting for you if I pointed out that, right at this moment, your vaunted anthology is listing at #350,857 at Amazon and my latest anthology, Grab Bag 7, is listed at #317,805--and that my anthology is being sold on many more distribution sites than your anthology is. So, I won't point that out, as all of this is much less an obsession with me as it is with you and that guy in whose ass you have your nose buried.

Come on, Freddie, if you want this thread to be all about you, make yourself sparkle more. There are no limits to what you'll say or claim, so you shouldn't have trouble making it all about you again.

And now a bottom line for Dwayne, who brought the issue up (and no doubt will be falling further on his sword over it). The bottom line on comparative Amazon performance, Dwayne, is that multiple anthologies by just me at Amazon, only one of several of my distributors, are ranking better in e-book versions (and I also put them out in paperback and you guys didn't) than the anthology that you and nine others, with only a finite number of distribution points, have been able to muster. With ten authors buying and hyping and all buyers having to buy at a limited number of sales points, it's not hard to get out of the gate quickly in the rankings at those distributors. But the Amazon numbers are on sustained performance, which is where it matters in the bank account. So, next time you want to backbite me on book performance, for the sake of your nine colleagues, you might just sit on your mouth. You brought this up; I didn't.
