Mercurius said:Wow, Kansans! My wife and I are here in Manhattan. And for those of you who think there's no fun to be had in the breadbasket, well, we've had some interesting times with our college friends. And we do so enjoy corrupting the innocent. There are some good stories to tell, if you ask nice. ;-)
So if you're in the NE KS area, drop us a line! We go to Topeka and Lawrence al the time.

greedygirl said:Hi, isn't there an old song that goes something like: "I was born in Kansas, I was bred in Kansas..."? It just popped into my mind as I was reading these KS posts. Oh well, never mind, it's probably too old...grin. Hell, I"M probably too old!
Well, that last line's not true, BUT, the rest is. I come from way out west in Kansas. Ya know, I think that's ANOTHER old song. Ok, sorry, my mind is running along strange roads this morning.
I'm actually packing (or supposed to be, but you can see what I'm really doing right now) to drive to KS today. I'm staying in Salina tonight, and may stay there on my way back. It's about 400 miles from Lincoln to my small hometown and sometimes I drive it straight thru and sometimes I stop in Salina or Hays.
I'd love to have coffee with a Salina, or nearby, Lit sometime when I'm staying there. I suppose it's too much to ask for there to be any Lits near Dodge...grin.
I live in Lincoln, NE now, but I grew up (sorta) near Dodge, have lived in Pittsburg, Hutch, Garden City and Hays.
Bye for now...I've GOT to get packing! TTYL!
