Hey Lit members-

Began a weightlifting cut 4 days ago. Been through the bulks before but after losing quite a bit of size from not lifting for 8 months, I'm deciding to shred bodyfat to see what I need to work on.

Body Fat percentage is probably currently around 13 or 14%, which is abysmal, in my eyes...but the cut seems to be working. Here are two pictures from 3 days in. I'll more than likely post updates-supposing it goes well.

Critiques, compliments-all accepted.

Thanks.

13-14% body fat is not a lot. Anything under 25% is considered minimal risk of being unhealthy. So, I think you are fine where you are.

The pictures are good!

Yeah, 13-14% isn't horrible I suppose, but at the end of this 8 week, 800-1200 calorie/day high protein diet, I should be at around 5-7%, which would be outstanding.

Thanks Bebe, you rule.

Thank u! :rose:

5-7% is outstanding.

I wouldn't suggest going under 1200 calories, seriously. If you are working out, building muscle, and training... it would be unhealthy to not fuel your body completely.

Determine your weight by (kg) = divide your weight in pounds by 2.2 (ie: 175 pounds divided by 2.2 = 79.5kg)

Next multiply you answer (in KGs) by the BMR (basal metabolic rate) factor to see how many calories you burn on one hour. Use 1.0 (for males). (ie: 79.5 x 1.0 = 79.5 calories per hour)

Now multiply that answer by the number of hours in a day.
(ie: 79.5 x 24 = the amount of calories you need a day)

That is a basic/rough amount of calories you need to perform the basic functions of living.

You exercising would actually require you to have more calories. If you are looking to lose weight... staying with you basic calorie need to okay. But, I think exercising daily and watching your fat intake would be okay.

Just be healthy, okay?

5 .7/ % is not a joke and if you wana go down thereneed lots of time in my opinion to a person that does not want compete in fitness world 9% is enough

You all raise valid points.

My fitness goals are not only of the aesthetic level, I plan on getting back into bodybuilding (once I use my slimmer frame as a judgement point), and more importantly, Mixed Martial Arts fighting.

The MMA training should keep me lean while the weightlifting adds the size.

Right now, the sub 1200 kCal occurances are generally not intended, but I'm taking in enough protein to maintain muscle mass, or possibly even promote gains.
