Okay, after some tinkering with my computer, I can now see and click Killi's links to imageshack. Yes! Since I was not the only one on this thread who mentioned having this problem, I will share my solution.
Most likely, you are running some form of advertising-blocking software, which it mistakenly believes the thumbnail-links to be. In my case it was the pro version of Zone Alarm firewall, which has built-in ad-blocking.
To change the setting in Zone Alarm, open the Zone Alarm control center. Click on privacy, then the main tab. Go down to the section called ad blocking. Slide the lever to medium. You should then be able to see the thumbnailed links. If you are already on the page with the links when you do this, you will need to refresh it to make the images appear.
I am so glad I didn't give up in frustration. The images of the lovely Killi were more than worth the effort.
