It seems like the study of kittenish is a lost art. It is my understanding that kittens bestow their gifts freely but to select people. Kittens rub up against those they choose and with others they are just stand offish. Kittens are dependent on others for the affection they need but just cannot be forced to give their gifts.

I wonder if my voice has the right timbre to coax you out of under the bed?

hmmm... no.. I rub to mark my territory so watch where you touch I don't want to go through rubbing against things I've already marked as MINE!

You insight is inspired, and I'm quite confident your voice registers a becalming tone. Having said that, my experience is you grope blindly under the bed and drag her out by her tail... hissing and spitting.
