They are the same dude, second one is his game face, yanno. he looks good both ways, IMO.

I never got the Spike thing. I think his accent sounds very odd to an English ear (well, mine, anyway) - sort of mid-Atlantic - which just spoils the whole effect and makes him seem very awkward and WRONG.

I'm much more into Anthony Head in Buffy. I met Anthony Head once at a dog show (his partner is an animal healer; he was watching the dog agility and came up to meet me and my little doggy after we did our agility display) and I got an ACTUAL lady boner right there and then while discussing dog training with him and my husband. :)
