Mine tasted differently based on what I ate. *shrug*

And, yeah -- but the time they're running around, they don't nurse very often. Looking down into babies' eyes as they nursed was the singular most magnificent part of parenting (thus far).

My middle child always put his hand in my hair as he nursed and twirled his fingers. I loved that.

One of mine was a "twiddler"... he liked the second nipple in his hand while he was nursing on the first... drove me crazy... lol

my first daughter was a "smacker"... she would get so excited about nursing that she'd end up smacking my face... silly girl...

I'd think those teeth would be a real incentive to "encourage" weaning...but what do I know ?

I breast fed all three of my boys until they weaned themselves- one at 6 months, one at nine, and one at just over a year. They wanted real food by then.

I used a sarong as a nursing shawl- and had a woman in a major department store, where I was nursing my son while walking around shopping for clothes that didn't fall off of me, threaten to call security for "indecent exposure." I was covered from neck to knee by the sarong, her response, when security asked wtf she was thinking was "everyone knows what she's DOING under there!"

I demanded to see the management.

She was fired on the spot, the manager apologized profusely, and the company shortly thereafter sent me a letter of apology. Florida has wonderful laws to protect a nursing mother.

I personally covered up because of men ogling my breasts, not because I gave a damn if it bothered anyone. At home, I nursed in front of anyone who happened to be in the line of fire when the baby decided it was grub time. My sister's friends (the male ones) went from embarrassed to fascinated within a few days, and would ask all sorts of "baby" questions about why I breastfed, how it worked, did it hurt, was it really better for the baby, etc, etc,etc.

I voted for the first option. I see a woman breastfeeding in public now and then, and I find it to be a very pleasant sight, but not at all erotic. When I see a woman nursing her baby, I think of how very right it is for her to be doing that, possibly the most right thing in the world. And, if I had been thinking of the world as a rotten and terrible place, I change that thinking because I know that, in at least one part of the world, things are as they should be.

At the same time, I think ir should be done naturally and as a matter of fact. If a woman were to strip herself naked above the waist and start to feed a baby, it wouldn't bother me. Being a dirty old man, I would enjoy the sight but some people might be offended. By the way, I have never actually seen this happen.

I voted "other" -- because I don't feel "discretion" is even necessary. It's natural. Deal.

My sentiments exactly. Then again, I'm in favor of legal public nudity, so I don't know that my views count for much there. I'm only being consistent.

Makes you a little squeamish...
Makes you consider the salad...

Do you walk over there, smack fatso on the back of the head, and tell him "Hey, goddamit! Have some fucking decency!"

No... you look the other way.

Personally, I say we cut a baby at least as much slack as Mr. Babyback.

Breastfeeding is a-ok with me, wherever and whenver and however.

I do admit, though, this kinda gives me pause...



I know the breastfeeding orgs recommend it up to 3 years old, but I think that might wig me out a little.

Yeah, once they're walking and working on potty-training and can say, "Mom! Gimme a boob!", it's time for kibble.
