I'd suggest adding something that takes some thought and emotion...like write her a note telling her what you like/love/feel about her or really look into her eyes and tell her these things (be very specific). Physical expression is great, but I always melt when I hear raw emotion and things straight from the heart.

blue,you can write,can't you? since distance is a problem,you may want to send her just a small card with a hand written note saying simply that you miss her will keep you on her mind.don't flood her with them,just send them once a week or so and she will look forward to them,any more and she may tire of them.if you can spare a few bucks,sending her flowers is also a good one.depending on where she works,you may want to have them sent there.it's always nice to see a florist come with flowers and everyone is watching to see who gets them.do not send them to a classroom unless she is the teacher,it's too disrupting.if she is in a dorm,that would be good,also.from a woman's point of view,it's a treat to watch that florist be directed to you and know that you are on someone's mind.
