seems that they are taking her most recent comic history into account.
What i find interesting is that i'm seeing a lot of comments "She's too skinny." "She's not toned enough." " She doesn't look like an Amazon."
I think it's code for she doesn't have big boobs.

I am a full-spectrum breast lady and her cup size didn't even occur to me.
Lucy Lawless could probably snap me like a twig. But then again growing up she was always my image of how a modern Diana would have looked.

i agree the casting in this movie continues to amaze me, & not in a good way.
but I am still much more scared of the director & writer than any actor in it!
