Well I find it easier to base it on a pound for pound level, like taking into account the resources available and the director plus actors etc.

Which puts me to my point

The worst movie I have ever seen based on those reasons is batman and robin

I'm also in the minority that thinks the movie titanic is appalling

In comparison to the 1st, better or worse?

I say this b/c I initially disliked the 1st one but having seen it quite a bit on HBO have come to really appreciate it for its decent pacing and story telling. Best movie ever? No. Slightly repeitive in procedure? Yes. But on the whole, I think it stands up pretty well. I am interested to see how well it lines up with the remaining two features. I suspect I will appreciate all 3x of them in a binge movie session in a few years....btw, I am not a fan of the book series and really did not like the LOTR movies either, oddly enough.
