Away From Her ****

I've been meaning to see that film. I'm going to have to prepare myself for it emotionally though. It seems like the kind of film that puts the viewer through the wringer, emotionally speaking of course.

The Wrestler

It was good and the performances were solid. However--IMO--it lacked the gravitas of the kind of gut wrenching tragedy that it aspired to be, e.g. "21 Grams."

My Bloody Valentine 3D

Great effects, loved the death scenes, little predictable but what 'horror' movie these days isn't. Hard to make a good horror anymore, but this one was fun and enjoyable. Would say rates a good 3 1/2 stars out of 5

In some ways it reminded me of The Notebook

I've never seen that film.
I can't take that Gosling kid seriously, because I can't help thinking of him as the kid from that horrid television show about a high school on a cruise ship.

Almost wished..

There was a thread about movies not watch. That one would have been some POS movie I bought called "repo, the gentic opera" Waste of cash. Movie is so bad I would not even toss it in the garbage, it would make the place stink.

Now I did by Max Payne on dvd, and it was pretty good, lot of violence, but some great looking babes. Not much for plot.

Watching The Detectives

This lousy piece-o-shit has honed my indifference to Lucy Liu into a hatred with the sharpness of a ceramic scalpel.

Soul Men

Objectively, the movie was the worst kind of formulaic shite. However, since I'm black and I grew up around uncles whose speech and mannerisms were very similar to Bernie Mac's and Sam Jackson's, it had a certain nostalgic appeal for me.

Fiddler on the Roof. haha what a great way to burn through 3+ hrs
