Talk of being forced into removing posts and Laurel stated ass long as I been around she won't do that.......It is clear something bad has happened and I do think we have a right to know.

Excuse me here, but I really don't see the big deal. "Beyond your control", Laurel? I can see where you wouldn't want to be sucked into this, whatever, but I can only assume from your post that you mean some kind of legal action or something with the poster's ISP or something similar to that.

Maybe the post might get the asshole who posted it kicked off their ISP, but that's about it. While they were a complete jerk, they didn't threaten anyone. All they more or less said was "you're lying" which is something we've heard time and again here. So he's a jerk, so what? He -and for some reason I'm assuming it was a guy- didn't really do anything wrong. Being an asshole isn't a crime or we'd have probably all been locked away at one time or another.

Now before you think I'm standing up for the troll, I'm not. What they said should have been deleted like I said before, because it wasn't even sarcastic or mildly entertaining in its stupidity, but OTOH, people, grow a skin. That's been said before too. What can this person do to you, Tiggs? Hurt your feelings, of course, but only if you let them.

Whoever it is probably doesn't have the mental capacity to think past a fifth grade level anyway, so why all the fuss? Next time somebody fights, is there going to be a lawsuit? Some of you guys are just taking all this a little too seriously.

Rape is serious, and Tiggs, if it happened I'm genuinely sorry to hear it, but if I were you I would devote my time to finding the asshole and cutting off his balls with a rusty kitchen knife than alerting a whole army to find an anonymous internet moron who slung a few insults at you. Just my thoughts on it, for whatever they're worth.

BBS... ~sigh~ I never sent an army out to find a troll. Personally I don't give a shit who the troll is. Someone very dear to me is worried that the troll could very well be the rapist. I supose there's a chance, because after all, I don't know who it is. I had a possible hunch baised on an "enemy" here, but who knows if it's her too. I made a mistake by getting wrapped up in my emotions during a more "innocent" troll flaming. I wish that now I hadn't been online that night. I don't want to be the center of debate here at Lit. I never intended on that. Why can't you all just let it go. Yes, I was raped. It's over now. I've told the police what all I know of him. (Yes, I knew him somewhat.) Yes, I knew him 'cause of the net. I never told him my last name or my address, etc. I never invited him over. I never led him on then changed my mind. He forced himself into my apartment and on me. I cried the whole time. I tried to fight him off. Hell, it hurt like hell becasue I NEVER became wet. The only reason I opened the fuckin' door in the first place was because I had ordered pizza. Once the rapist was done with me, he got up, pulled his pants up, and left. I just laid there and cried for the longest time. Finally I called the police. Anyway, like I mentioned once before, I told the police everything I knew about him. If they catch him they're supposed to call me so I can ID him. I intend on pressing charges to the fullest extent of the law. For those who say I am lying or that I deserved it, fuck you. I pitty you and your narrow mind.

Wizard- I haven't heard any "talk" on or off the board, but then I'm not part of any grapevine here, just a regular poster. If I can translate your post to what I think you said- is the concern that the rapist could have been a regular Lit member who tracked down Tiggs? I don't think that is true from what she has said, but anything is possible.

The event Tiggs had to live through can still be a good reminder to all of the rest of us. We all need to be careful how much personal information we give on a public BB. We get comfortable here, and forget that there are lots of people just passing through. Even among members, statistically speaking there is likely to be a violent soul or two out there. We don't want to meet these people in RL.
